Intro to sup Karthus

Karthus is good champ. So naturally he can do any role, like support. As Karthus support you will have a very weak early game unless you have an APC. Since Karthus's wall (w) slows AND lowers magic resist it pairs very nicely with an APC such as Teemo. If you are supporting an AD champ you will need to play very cautiously and not dive, or try to, for kills.

What exactly should I do as Karthus support?

As Karthus support you whole job is confusion. The enemy team will focus you if they're dumb because Karthus is scarey. But their efforts are for no good because you will have so much health and armor by end game that you can sit in the middle of team fights while being focused and still live. So because of this your job as Karthus support is to just run into every team fight, soak up damage, and slow the **** out of the whole enemy team.

Justifying the summoner spells

No flash? Flash is for the weak and Karthus is not weak. Heal can be swapped out though if you feel the urge to, but it's very helpful early game so you can sustain.

For some reason Karthus has the potential for maximum tankage, so follow these simple steps to achieve victory in every game.
Step 1: get Rylai's
Step 2: slow the **** out of everyone
Step 3: get tanky
Step 4: dive into team fights
Step 5: NEVER DIE
