From my experience premades are usually normal. If you play some normals with ppl that play ranked with you and show you're good they might let you tag along. If you want to take a break from ranked though vent matchmaking should be perfect for you. :D I sit in afk a lot even though I am there, feel free to open a private chat and ask what's up.
If you WANT to play ranked though I think the best thing to do would be to look in the MOBAfire Clan thread in the matchmaking forums. Those guys are trying to get srs bsns with ranked. :P
