Are they still worth using?
i havnt been using gold generation runes, what i am using is MS quints but from what ive heard flat Health quints are good, but ive been getting a full build without gold generation items with 21 points in utility

Its hard to tell with all the Gold Generating items around.... ima say maybe 2 gold quints and a flat HP might be best right now. Going the other way (2HP and one Gold Quint) might be better though. I'm not a Theorycrafter though.
Right now I am using only Greater Quintessence of Gold. I think armor runes are more important than gold ones (because you need extra defense as support) since gold income items have improved.

Even in S3 I eventually stopped using Gold Runes.
The extra lane presence and saved gold from Sightstone made the Quints rather useless, and HP Runes took over.
In S4 it is even better so, fk dem Gold quints!

I finish every clear on full HP without using any potions. Lifesteal isn't very useful until late-game. But I prefer to use the gold quints to get a faster
