I will see if Matt can help me get a list of them and decide what to do.

Thanks to GrandMasterD for my sig!
Sounds fair :) What about the idea of adding IGN display to forum comments? Do you think that would be necessary, seeing as people have badges in the forums?
Would probably make sense. I mean, they used to display. I honestly have no idea why they removed them from comments in the first place. >.>

Edit: Astrolia, I don't care how many other accounts you have gotten to gold or plat or diamond or whatever. You have verified ONE account on MobaFire, and I should be able to have a look at that ONE account. Throatslasher has played on at LEAST 5 accounts with more than 50 games this season, but he hasn't said "Yo, I play on 5 other accounts, I have 50 games all up, my elo is now 1800, gimme a badge".
Uh, I don't know why you're talking to me like my summoner name isn't filled out (plus I have a huge banner in my profile that shows my IGN), but your post said, "How can I trust a gold+ guide if I can't even check if they've played xxx champion in the last few months?" This implies something like entirely different than what you're saying now - wanting to use ranked stats to see if they've played a certain champion versus wanting to see if their summoner name and elo match up. Stats and such don't matter, though, if a person just got carried to their elo without really improving. When it comes to writing guides, a person's practical game knowledge can speak louder than their elo, as guides are largely a reflection of your experience.
hi embracing. yes i play ff14 now.

Didn't they have that before the forum aesthetics overhaul?

If I helped you, click that +rep!
Astorlai: I was using the word "you" as a general term. As in, I wasn't referring to you specifically, just putting it into context. What you've said is true too; I just want to be able to look someone "of high elo" up and see what they've done. And that requires their summoner name in their profile.
Pikachu: I thought so too o.o I wondered when it was removed.

I think astrolia's point is that they might practice certain champions on certain accounts so only seeing their one account may not reflect their actual knowledge of the champion.
I think that's a pretty specific / small case and if someone wants to make their smurfs known they can always write it in their guide or bio. Either way some people do like to check a guide writer's stats. I see your point though.

seeing lots of guides with crazy ranked stats posted i also agree you should be able to look em up for yourself since it might change anytime.
EDIT:
also, how fast does mobafire varify you as gold or plat? Like if i were to be gold today when would it be displayed next to my account name?
