He's still fairly good, he just fell out of popularity around the time he was nerfed.

I find that Swain can be quite random, You can either do real good with him and carry a game or do horribly and feed everybody. I guess it just depends on which team comp you're up against, or its just my inability to play him :P
Swain is good, but a lot of it has to do with your positioning. You must also be careful as any heal debuff wrecks you if you get focused.

Guess many ppl get demotivated by the fact that they have to "dive" sometimes with a slow fragile caster, while not instant-kill at least one target.
Maybe ppl take it for granted to play a tank-caster but not a caster-tank.

Just played a few games with Swain on a friends account. I like never see that dude in games. But I had a blast playing him. That DoT is pretty insane! His ulti is great sustain, and while I had serious mana problems early, I think with mana regen runes and masteries (low level account i played on) it wouldnt be too brutal.
But is there a reason I don't see him...EVER? He seems to be a really solid mid. Any thoughts on Swain are appreciated (i've spent FOREVER trying to find ONE champ I fell in love with - this is the closest i have come!)
