DMP's mobility basically gives him a second mobi boots effect that doesn't lose its effectiveness while in combat. Plus, that damage bonus is huge!

Yeah i know DMP sounds like a prefect rammus item but i really dont think it is.
I mean its not exactly a cheap item, and since it doesnt offer much in teamfights, you would have to get it really early imo. Since laning phase is over quite early in most games.
Also if u cant catch people with Q i dont think DMP is gonna make much of a difference. Since the reason that you wouldnt be able to catch people would be that they CC you. And CC stops DMP passive and also the bonus dmg. It might be a good item if you are 5-0 at min 15, but that shouldnt happen.
Thornmail gives u so much kill potential with lvl 5 taunt, Aegis helps your team allot and is nice if they have much ap. And Warmogs would also be better in most cases of long laning phases and if enemy team has much mixed dmg. But yes you do need hp on rammus, but a ruby stone or two should be plenty, also I use Strenght of the ages mastery for extra hp.

It literally gives rammus everything he needs. The armor, health and movespeed+slow scale all over his kit. Plus the duration of the slow on Q was nerfed to 1 second iirc, so you'll use both full slows if you can walk past them while they're slowed before the auto.
Also, Warmogs sucks early game.

It might just be my way of playing Rammus that doesnt comply with DMP. And I never meant that DMP is bad on Rammus btw. just inefficient :)
And I do see your point but I still think there are better items to rush.
I can see it being good if you are snowballing really hard tho. But I usually try giving the kills to a team mate in the early game so..
About DMP being inefficient my point is that DMP will cost you 2800 g and you need Mobis+Cinderhulk aswell to really boost that side of Rammus kit. At that point in the game, without a high kill or tower score, laning phase should be pretty much over.
And what does DMP really do in a teamfight?
Then there is the increased speed ofc. but this seems rather overvalued to me tbh.
I mean, with Mobis and a loaded Q you are so damn fast, and you should be able to dodge what is dodgeable imo. :)
Also i often get Alacrity enchantment on my Mobis quite early for some more permanent MS.
By the way, according to LoLwiki.com the Q slow was reduced from 3 to 2 seconds. And even so, you are probably using Taunt anyway so the slow won't really matter?
And yes DMP passive "quickly decays" which means that a 1.5 sec CC will pretty much remove the buff?
if this happens you are paying 2800 g for 500 hp + 50 armor.
for comparison get Thornmail and a Ruby Crystal(2750 g):
100 armor + 150 hp and the failsafe Thornmail passive ofc.
There are plenty of other options of course, I ussually get Aegis + 1-2 Cloth armor early game.
But an early Thornmail does so well against high ad teams, better than a DMP imo.
I am sure Warmorgs could be nice early game! XD
like if the enemy team has allot of mixed damage and you are skirmishing and stuff. Tbh. I have not actually rushed Warmogs in other than a custom game, but I have found that:
Cinderhulk + Warmogs gets me over 3000 hp (combined with Strenght of the ages mastery) which triggers the Warmogs passive with amazing hp regen.
Also building Warmogs is kinda nice on Rammus, flat cheap hp items with hp regen and you can always get a Cloth armor in the process.
Maybe I should add, that I so far always get red smite, which makes flat hp even more effecient, because of the damage reduction.
But please tell me what u think :)

You can never be fast enough as Rammus. If Q was "fast enough" no one would have ever rushed homeguard + mobies.

I think Mobis is plenty MS, DPM gets you 60 MS at most which isnt that much imo. And i dont really see what champion you are gonna catch that you wouldnt have anyway.

And I really think the Warmogs passive is underestimated, since it pretty much means you are always gonna have full hp. This is very nice in the early game, because it means you dont have to back after each gank. (Since you cant rush homeguards anymore)
Also in this meta, with allot of ignites (top/mid having ignite being more common now) flat hp is nice.
Also my point was: Is DMP passive really ever effective in combat? It quickly decays when hit by CC and it takes some time to get the 100 stacks up.
