Read up on all the new PBE changes to get up to date on the upcoming Patch 25.05. Highlights include new Grand Reckoning skins, anti-laneswap Turret changes, champion price reduction, the return of Hextech Chests, and more!
These changes appeared on PBE on the 19th of February, but have been slowly shifting over the past week, and may continue to do so. As such, keep in mind that not all of these changes may make it to the live patch. If you’d like to check any of the following changes out before Wednesday, hop on PBE and queue up!
New Cosmetics - Grand Reckoning
Act 2 is nearly upon us, and with it, a brand new Battle Pass with new skins. In this act, the skins will be focused on a sort of gladiator aesthetic—perfect for Noxus, and perfect for the return of Arena. If you purchase the Act 2 Battle Pass, you’ll be able to acquire Grand Reckoning Sion, Grand Reckoning Talon, and the PRestige skin, Triumphant General Darius. The Battle Pass will cost the usual 1650 RP.
In addition to these three skins, there may be up to three more Grand Reckoning skins you can cop in the store. In the upcoming patch, you’ll be able to purchase Grand Reckoning Draven for 1350 RP.
Grand Reckoning Rell and Alistar were revealed, but will not be in the Battle Pass or store for the time being. Additionally, the Exalted skin Sahn-Uzal Mordekaiser, which was set to debut in the Sanctum with the upcoming patch, has been indefinitely delayed while Riot works to ensure the quality of the skin is up to snuff.
Now for a drastic change in theme! Finally, after a month's delay, Darling Dumplings Seraphine is also coming to the store in Patch 25.05. This Epic skin, priced at 1350 RP, was delayed while Riot worked to change its recall animation. You’ll also be able to acquire up to eight chromas for both Seraphine and Draven in the store.
Client Changes
Battle Pass & Hextech Crafting
After a tumultuous month of negative community feedback, Riot is making a slew of changes to both the Battle Pass rewards and Hextech Crafting. On the free Pass, the free Seasonal and Mystery Epic or Lower Skin Shard rewards are being removed, and replaced by 8 Hextech Chest & Key combos. Riot will also award players with high Honour with another two Hextech Chest & Key combos per Act.
On the free Pass, one of the non-Prestige skins will be getting replaced with a reward of 25 Mythic Essence, allowing you to slowly accumulate Mythic Essence even if you don’t utilise the Sanctum.
Key Fragments are being removed and replaced by Keys in all cases.

Champion Price Changes
Another highly-requested quality of life change for League of Legends players is the reduction of all champion prices. Every champion’s Blue Essence cost will be halved starting from Wednesday’s patch.
Summoner’s Rift Changes
Noxus Takeover
The Noxian saturation and red colour tint of the Summoner’s Rift map will be reduced, especially in the lanes.
Turret Changes
RIot is implementing a mechanic that will decentivize lane-swapping. They are doing this by altering the passives in the outer turrets in the top and middle lanes. Instead of the Fortification passive (Fortification: Reduces all incoming damage by 50%. This item disappears after 5 minutes), these turrets will now have a new passive called Lane Swap Detector.
If two or more champions (excluding those with a jungle item) are detected top or mid lane between minute 1:30 and 3:30, the turrets will be augmented with the follow effects:
▲ Champion Buffs
▼ Champion Nerfs
