Patch 14.17 is due Wednesday! Read on to get up to date on all the changes that are coming live, including four new Battle Queen skins and two limited edition Mythic Variant skins!
These changes appeared on PBE on the 22nd of August, but have been slowly shifting over the past week, and may continue to do so. As such, keep in mind that not all of these changes may make it to the live patch. If you’d like to check any of the following changes out before next Wednesday, hop on PBE and queue up!
New Cosmetics - Battle Queen & God-King
Six new skins have been added to PBE, four of which are new additions to the popular Battle Queen skinline. The new skins are Battle Queen Annie, Battle Queen Fiora, Battle Queen Gwen, and Battle Queen Miss Fortune. Each skin is of the epic variety and will cost 1350 RP. As usual, you have a choice between several different chromas for each skin as well, with chromas costing 290 RP a pop.

On the opposite end of the thematic spectrum, there are also two new-ish skins for Garen and Darius. The legendary skins, God-King Garen and God-King Darius, which were originally released in 2018, are getting Mythic Variants in this upcoming patch. You'll be able to acquire Divine God-King Darius and/or Fallen God-King Garen through the capsule system. You'll be able to choose between purchasing a Fallen God-King Garen or a Divine God-King Darius capsule, as they follow individual milestone tracks.
Whenever you open one of these two Capsules, there's a 1% chance you acquire a Grab Bag, or the Mythic Variant of these two skins, along with an icon and border. The Grab Bag contains three several valuable skin shards and a chance to obtain Mythic Essence. Once you've purchased 30 capsules, you're guaranteed to get the Mythic Variant of the skin and a border and icon along with it.
If you’d like to acquire both skins, you’d need to purchase 30 Divine God-King Darius Capsules and 30 Fallen God-King Garen Capsules in total. You have until Thursday, September 23, 2024, to acquire the Mythic Variants before they are gone forever.

System Changes
Matchmaking
Several long-awaited matchmaking improvements will arrive with this patch. Both teams should now have a similar amount of players off-role; either autofilled or placed into their secondary roles. LP gaps between players should also be lower now on the whole. Finally, red and blue side imbalance, especially in higher MMR, has been decreased.
