Patch 14.21 is due Wednesday! Read on to get up to date on all the changes that are coming live, including Swain's Mid-Scope Update and a slew of new Dark Cosmic skins!
These changes appeared on PBE on the 9th of October, but have been slowly shifting over the past week, and may continue to do so. As such, keep in mind that not all of these changes may make it to the live patch. If you’d like to check any of the following changes out before Wednesday, hop on PBE and queue up!
New Cosmetics - Dark Cosmic
Six new skins are being added to the Event Horizon/Dark Star skin universe. Four of these are Epic tier and will run you 1350 RP apiece. These are Dark Cosmic Diana, Dark Cosmic Kai'Sai, Dark Cosmic Yorick, and Dark Cosmic Zoe. You can grab any of these epic skins starting from Wednesday. Dark Star Sylas will also be dropping in with a new model, fresh animations, new lines and voiceover, and sound effects. This Legendary tier skin can be acquired for the standard 1820 RP price.

Diana enthusiasts will be happy to know that the Dark Cosmic Diana will be coming with a Prestige variety as well, complete with a brand new high fashion splash art. This skin can be acquired through the Worlds Event shop for 2000 Worlds 2024 Tokens.

Swain Mid-Scope Update
Swain is getting his long awaited gameplay adjustments in Patch 14.21. Broadly speaking, power has been taken away from his ultimate ability and scattered among the rest of his kit, making him less reliant on his ultimate and a bit stronger as a whole. Power-wise, the changes have been fairly neutral, and should not affect his win rate drastically, except perhaps in the support role. Bounty System Update
Champion Bounties
The Champion Bounty system ascribes gold values to different players in a given game based on their performance. Well-performing players will have positive gold bounties which mean that upon death their killer will gain more gold than the average kill would yield. Negative bounties work inversely - a poorly performing player will yield less gold to their killer when they die.
The bounty system is being slightly reworked now in a number of ways:
Bounties no longer always reset to their base value (300 gold) whenever a positive bounty holder dies or a negative bounty holder gets a kill.
Extended bounties have been removed. Champions can no longer accrue a bounty higher than 700 gold.
Champion bounties are now determined based on their total gold earned, instead of their current kill streak.
Gold value bounties are no longer scaled compared to average enemy gold. Instead, it now has different weights depending on whether the champion is at a positive or negative bounty.
Objective Bounties
Objective Bounties work differently. If your team is considered to be at a deficit, they will gain more gold from capturing objectives such as Baron Nashor and turrets. Now, when determining objective bounties, the deficit in experience is less important. Conversely, the gold and turret number deficits now count more towards determining bounties.
Voidgrubs now count towards determining objective bounties too, while previously a bug had prevented them from doing so. Finally, Baron Nashor and Elder Dragon’s bounties have been decreased.
