TFT Into The Arcane Patch 14.24

Into The Arcane has received its first update! Read on to learn about all the changes that have gone live on Wednesday in Teamfight Tactics.

In a Nutshell 


It's the very first patch of the Into The Arcane TFT set and it's a doozy. Starting off from the biggest and most exciting change - three new Units have been added to the set, and they are 6-cost units! This is novelty in the world of Teamfight Tactics, and you can read up on it in detail in our previous TFT article on 6-Cost Units!


Also new, Riot has added four more Opening Encounters to add some spice and variety to your lobbies. One of them - Viktor's Vision - will make it much easier to find 6-cost champions.


There have been many many adjustments to Anomalies and Augments, with a couple of each being disabled, and several re-enabled as well. There's also a new Team-Up Trait in the game now - "Betrayal" - you can find the details on this new Trait below, but, as a warning, it is a bit of a Season 2 spoiler.

Rotating Shop Infographic 


A new Unbound Tactician has escaped its enclosure. You can acquire Arcane Warwick Unbound in the Treasure Realms now or by spending 10 Mythic Medallions in the Mythic Rotating Shop. Chibi Porcelain Irelia has also joine the Treasure Realm lineup for the next two patch cycles.


Many exclusive Arcane-themed goodies await you in the Seasonal Rotating Shop as well! Four Arcane-themed Arenas have been added since last cycle, including "The Toxitorium" for 2500 Realm Crystals, and "Sky-High Station", "Chemtech Plaza", and "Shisa's Study" for 500 Realm Crystals each. You can also buy four Arcane-themed Emotes for 500 Realm Crystals right now, including Silco's "Become What They Feat" emote that they released years ago.

System Changes

Opening Encounters

Four new Opening Encounters have been added:

Viktor’s Vision: Viktor makes 6-costs appear starting on Stage 4-1 and makes them 3 times as likely to appear in your shop.


Mel’s Aid: Mel will grant you powerful loot at 40 player health.


Warwick’s Hunger: When you kill an enemy champion, Warwick will occasionally devour their body and leave loot behind.


Artifact Anvil: Jayce crafts you an Artifact anvil.


The Wind Up Monkey (Powder) Encounter has been disabled in Hyper Roll, and it no longer deals double damage in Double Up. Since a few things have been added, the Encounter odds have been adjusted as such:

6-Cost Units

Anomaly Rules

Rerolling Anomaly options can be frustrating when you really want that one perfect anomaly for your carry. While you can still get the same option over and over if you’re unlucky, you will now never see a repeated option back to back.

Loot Orb Changes

Loot Orbs which contain several units or anvils can now be partially opened when you have enough room in your inventory or on your bench for some but not all of the loot.


The Prismatic Orb which granted 30 gold and two Champion Duplicators has been disabled, but a new Prismatic Orb which grants an 6-cost Champion, Artifact Anvil, and an Item Remover has been added!

Shop Odds

Some Shop odds have been shuffled around due to the inclusion of 6-cost units. Expect this to be changed some more during the next few weeks as Riot makes appropriate adjustments.

An Exalted Adventure 

Gain three 2-cost champions. If you 3-star two of them, gain an orb filled with loot. Gain a Lesser Champion Duplicator on select and at the start of every stage.

Ghost of Friends Past

Whenever an allied champion dies, your team permanently gains 5 health, 1% Attack Damage, or 1 Ability Power, based on the dying champion's role.

Void Swarm

Gain a Zz'Rot Portal and another after every 11 player combats. Zz'Rot Portal Voidlings gain 40% Attack Speed and 40% Omnivamp.

Scuttle Familiar

On death, summon a crab with 100% of their maximum Health, Armor, and Magic Resist.
