Huge influx of votes after updating

In the last 4 hours, it has suddenly jumped to 18 downvotes. I'm absolutely ok with receiving downvotes since that's what the system is for, but I'm confused at how my guide has received roughly the same amount of votes it took a year to gain, but only in the past 4 hours? The score has also decreased with this, from ~9.8 to 7.4. Sorry if this is actually nothing, but it's strange to me that my guide would receive that amount of votes in that short amount of time, since the highest amount of votes I can remember getting in one day is 3 or 4.[/quote]
