Since his remake, if you actually build items like Infinity Edge or Youmuu's Ghostblade (and you will obviously have Black Cleaver) for lategame, he is still a threat to the enemy squishys. This he can use to fullfill the tanky assasin role. Since Garen has already extreme tankyness without much defense items thanks to Courage and earlygame great damage, you just build tanky early ( Sunfire Aegis, Warmog's Armor, Mercury's Treads) so you never die and then damage. The only change Garen would like to have atm that his ultimate deals true dmg, because it just sucks, that an execution move like this doesn't deal it. Every other spells deals true dmg ( Feast, Noxian Guillotine)
