Champion Build Guide
Hello <3
My name is Hy but you can call me Corgi. I've been playing League since basically the end of season 9 and I am over lvl 200. I'm not the best league player by any means but I am a morgana main, ex morgana onetrick with 230,190 mastery poits, since season 10. I am Gold IV with the help of Sona, Morgana, Soraka, and Seraphine. Being Gold IV, I don't know to to much about the game so any feedback/questions are always welcomed in the comments!
One of Morgana's biggest problems with her kit is her ultimate, and hourglass is not doing Morgana any justice. (In most matchups). So lets start with the keystone, "Unsealed Spellbook." I chose this rune because Morgana can sometimes lack utility in team fights in my opinion, like when people flash out your ult, you misuse your shield, etc. Unsealed spellbook helps with that a ton by either giving you movement speed to chase down someone/dodge skillshots, to hindering the enemy with exhaust, or you can use heal to help you and an ally from dying. All of this gives Morgana a ton of utility and makes her more forgiving, and easier to use for Morgana mains.
My next rune, stopwatch, seems unnecessary with everything I just said. This could not be farther from the truth. Paired with Unsealed Spellbook gives you a ton of flexibility in the early game. You can use this item in lane to flash ult the enemy. You can use it to gank the top lane with the tp you may get from spellbook. You can even use this item for if the enemy tries to dive you under tower and you get a free kill cause they greeded for you. You just gained anywhere from 40-340 gold to use for your first item power spike, which for a support is one of their biggest power spike.
The third rune Biscuit Delivery helps with morgana's mana problems a little. Since I don't bring Manaflow Band in the secondary tree, the biscuits help with my mana because of Morgana's semi-high mana costs and they only get higher the more you level up your abilities.
The forth rune Approach Velocity is one of the most imporant runes in here because I believe it ties the whole of morgana's kit together. Approch Velocity is esspecially good with morgana's ult. If you dont know what Approach Velocity does, it basically makes it so when a enemy is cc'ed (soft or hard cc) you gain a burst of movement speed toward that enemy champion. This works well with getting a quick w on an enemy you rooted or it especially helps with morgana's ult. Morgana's ult is an AOE stun that takes 3 seconds to stun the enemy, in the meantime the enemies are slowed and morgana gains a movement speed buff when walking toward the enemy. This paired with Approach Velocity alone makes it extremely hard to get out of morgana's ult and helps morgana dodge any skillshots thrown at her, therefore not really needing hourglass every game.
Moving on to the secondary tree we have Nimbus Cloak and Transcendence. Nimbus Cloak to give morgana EVEN MORE movement speed when using Unsealed Spell book to either peel for an ally or chase down an enemy with your ult. Transcendence just helps morgana with her scaling. Using Transcendence along with the rest of my usual build I have been able to get morgana's black shield to a minimum of almost 6 seconds from 22 seconds and her q from 10 to 4 seconds.
The other popular item I could see a better argument for, would be for Lyandres. Lyandres is a better item for Morgana then Imperal Mandate because you can get much more value out of it. But sadly the item was changed this season to be a tank busting item. Last season it was better on morgana because morgana had trouble using items like Athens and Lyandres was a better option for her because of its passive making any cc'ed targets take an good chunk of increased damage. This made morgana alone be able to take away 3/4 of someone's hp. But since they took that away and with the addition of moonstone, Morgana's identity switch and made her W do consistent healing instead of consistent high damage. In short Lyandres is a situational item and Moonstone could be used for just about anything.
Shurelya's is personally my favorite item to have on Morgana in "Summoner Spells Sweeties" because it gives you everything you want on Morgana, It gives great peeling, AP, Heath, and a ton a CDR and it pairs up best with my rune page by again, giving Morgana everything she needs.
Night Harvest is my second favorite Mythic to get because it gives morgana good movement speed and it is really good into squishy teams because of the great damage you get by the Night Harvester Passive. It also has incredible synergy with her ult if you use it on someone who is marked. The only down side to this item is you have to be careful when using your w, because no matter what I like to max Q,E,W and you can waist your Night Harvester Proc on your W and get very littlr damage. (The last time I time tried to do, Q,W,E max with this item, I feed the enemy team.) So try not to waist your MS/DMG burst on your W.
Finally the last mythic, Moonstone. Disclaimer, this is the Mythic I have tried the least but so far I have had great successes with it. Moonstone Morgana may seem troll because her shield is on a 1486791780 second cooldown, but you can proc moonstone multiple times if the enemy stands in your W. This is what I was talking about earlier how morgana had a small identity crisis. But the fact you can get 2 or 3 moonstone procs with 1 w, makes morgana's w relevant and useful a little more than the other builds. The only downside to this is you lose out on some movement speed but your W becomes useful and you get a different kind of utility.
I Personally like redemption as my second item because it gives me 3 more things I need and those are, health, heal/shield power, and a active that gives me sustain while ulting or helping my team if I die. The next item I want to talk about is Morellonomicon and Chemtech Putrifier. THERE IS A LITTLE TO MUCH HEALING THIS SEASON so I like to build this item to prevent that healing. It gives me good AP and Chemtech gives me Ability Haste, which helps me achieve my 6 second E. I also want to talk about Zeke/Abyssal Mask. Both of these Items are good if my team is lacking in damage and I need to get more tanky. Mikael's can also somewhat fit in this role as well as a defensive item to get when your team needs a cleanse and I need ability haste and MR. Cosmic drive is also really good for everything morgana needs AP, Ability haste, HP and movement speed.
As you can see, if you relate back to everything I said about my runes/mythics you can see how well all the items help morgana get as much value as she can out of every game and stay relevant in every stage of the game.
ily all, thank you for reading and byeeeeee <3
