Presentation
Hello everyone !
I'm Gonzo59, a casual player actually Silver 3 and lvl 191 at the end of this S11.
I'm main support since forever : I played few years at Dota 2 and I'm now playing LoL since mid 2020. I tested all roles, but definitively support is my true hype !
I love to play aggressive-poke-annoying support champs (Xerath, Senna, Brand, Vel'koz, Pantheon) and "true" support champs (Braum, Leona, Soraka, Lulu).
With this 11.23 update and some new items, I wanted to test again a nice champ I liked when I tested top role with a nice kit (maybe ?) for supporting role : Maokai.
Feel free to ask me questions, give me suggestions or share feedback of your Maokai support games ! ;)

1rst feedback after 20 normal games : 65% winrate !
My last 8 games :

Very fun champ to play support ! I love it !!!
You can really annoy your opponent by rooting/slowing them all the time...while beeing really tanky, doing descent damages, having a nice move speed and spreading vision easily with your E.
You can also adapt your playstyle according to the situation : rush on melee to win a fight, or lauching a R/root/slow on threats to save your team(mates) then escape !
Your saplings are very versatile too : giving vision before face check a brush (with bigger range than putting a ward), preparing a trap to slow/damage opponent, throwing them behind your opponent to slow (or finish them !) during their retreat, throwing them behind you or you teammates to slow your trackers...just pay attention to your mana pool mostly early/mid game.
For the mana pool problem, the new item "Winter’s Approach" is really helping (and very strong on Maokai !).
Maokai's passive is really helpfull to sustain too : don't forgive it !
You really need to adapt your stuff too because of the frontline role of Maokai : are the threats AD or AP ? Is there a lot of CC to deal with ? Are you ahead so you can keep pressure and go for your core build ? All games are different (thanks Captain Obvious !).
I keep playing it but when you need tanky-CC AP support, Maokai can be really usefull !
I really think that I will often play Maokai support during S12 :)
