Impressive guide! I used to play a lot of AD Malzahar jungle. With the rework of Malzahar's passive, Yorick is probably the only other champion who can give that same feel. I haven't tried Yorick JNG yet, but after reading this, I will have to try him the next time I get filled. Especially considering releasing Maiden to lane is the closest thing we have to ZZ'Rot portal now (an item that I loved).

I am wondering if there is ever a situation in which it is more ideal to hold onto Maiden for an objective fight, instead of sending her to lane?

Completely agree that this is what you should go for if Malzahar is the type of champion you enjoy, what better way to bring back the ZZ'Rot Portal than with the champion who has it built into him 😁

I personally hold onto the maiden in the cases where:

*) The objective in question is more important than a lane push (for example: late game baron, soul point dragon, elder dragon)
*) I cannot make it in time to release the maiden on the right lane and get to the objective
*) Both sidelanes are already being pushed by teammates, especially if they are splitpushers likely to remain there than to come to the fight

It is also fine to stick with her for most of the game if you're someone who isn't too experienced with that kind of macro play. She plays a big part in Yorick's power budget and also makes a night/day difference when it comes to raising mist walkers, so it's never really a loss to keep her close by
