Champion Build Guide

Ahri Build | Challenger

Tips
One of the most important things on Ahri is farming. It's an easy and safe way to get items and carry the game. You can see more about wave management in the bottom of the guide^^

Other things that might help you climb:
Focus on your own mistakes not your teams mistakes.
Don't use the chat, it will only distract you.
If you die a lot then buy more pink wards to prevent ganks and look at the minimap more often to see if you can find the enemy jungler. If you see the enemy jungler botside or topside, you can play aggressive without the risk of getting ganked. But be careful, the enemy jungler can rotate fast.
Introduction
HIGHLIGHTED VIDEO

Hello guys this is my Ahri guide. I have been playing since season 2 and have been Challenger the last 4 seasons. I have played every single Champion in League of Legends and Ahri have been one of my favorite Champions back in the days. I got 2 accounts in Challenger at the moment and I'm trying to get my 3. smurf to Challenger. Right now I focus only on toplane where I play Tryndamere most of the time. You can join my stream if you want, would love that^^ https://www.twitch.tv/kurtdenstore21. Even if I play Tryndamere you can still watch some high elo Ahri's(if you are lucky) play and learn from them. Ahri is actually a really fun mid champ, so go test her out in soloq and enjoy!

My Ahri build is situational you could use this build every game, but I would recommend you to form your own builds. Take some games with Ahri and figure out what items you like the most. Electrocute Ahri is also really good atm, so you could also try that. This guide is only for Glacial Augment though.

This is my Challenger accounts

This is my greatest winstreak of all time in ranked

This is 2 of my smurfs
Items
Doran's Ring: Doran's Ring is a great start item, it gives 15 Ability Power and 60 health - these stats alone are great on Ahri. The ring gives +5 mana regen per 5 seconds and a on-hit damage vs minions.
Hextech GLP-800: Your first item is Hextech GLP-800, this item gives you 80 Ability Power which is huge this early. The item also gives 10% Cooldown Reduction and 600 mana, which both benefits Ahri. The item have 1 UNIQUE passive and that is 10% extra Cooldown reduction, so the item gives 20% Cooldown Reduction in total. The item also have a UNIQUE Active which is a spray of icy bolts that explode on the first enemy hit, dealing 100-200 magic damage. And the enemies that hare hit are slowed by 65%, decaying over 2 seconds. This UNIQUE active works really good with Glacial Augment.
Twin Shadows: Now we want to get Twin Shadows^^. You should go back when you have 2400 gold to get this item. If you don't have enough money on first back get Fiendish Codex and Aether Wisp. This item gives 70 Ability Power, 10% Cooldown Reduction and 7% Movement Speed. All these stats works really good on Ahri. You also get an unique active that helps your team catch the enemy champs and the active works pretty good with Glacial Augment.
Morellonomicon: After Twin Shadows it's time to get Morellonomicon, if you don't have 3000g to buy it directly get Oblivion Orb and Blasting Wand. Morellonomicon gives 70 Ability Power, 300 Health and 2 UNIQUE passives. The first passive is called Touch of Death and Touch of Death gives +15 magic penetration. This is really good if the enemy got magic resist, because then you still deal some damage to them.

The other passive is called Cursed Strike, this Cursed Strike gives enemy champions Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds after you have dealt magic damage. The Grievous Wound is the same as ignite so it makes the enemy heal less for 3 seconds.
Rabadon's Deathcap: The next item is Rabadon's Deathcap and this item i pretty expensive and comes at a price of 3600 gold. So you might want to get some Needlesly Large Rods if you don't have enough money for Deatchcap directly on your first back. Deathcap is a huge powerspike, the item gives you 120 Ability Power... Yea and not only that it also got a UNIQUE Passive that increases your Ability Power by 40%^^ Lets goooo hehe. So yea you are really strong after this one.
Void Staff: So yea we made it to the end annnd we only need Void Staff to complete the build. This item gives you 70 Ability Power and comes with an UNIQUE Passive that let your Magic damage ignore 40% of the target's Magic Resistance. And here comes the best part, you only need 2650 gold to get this item^^ Well that was the last item, go win some games for me my friend.

Alright so this is the build most Glacial Augment Ahri's use. You could use this build every single game, but I would recommend you to try some different items and figure out what works best for you. You could try Hourglass instead Rabadon's Deathcap if enemy is stacking armor champs. Or just build Ninja Tabi instead of Sorcerer's Shoes.

You could also try using Electrocute instead of Glacial. If you try this you don't need Hextech GLP-800 or Twin Shadows. But yea this guide is about Glacial, just thought I would mention Electrocute, because that is also a possibility on Ahri^^ Alright that's the items, gl.
Summoner Spells

SUMMONER SPELLS
-
FLASH: Ahri should have flash every game because it helps secure kills. Flash is also really important early game because then it's easier to survive ganks.
IGNITE: You should take Ignite to have more pressure in lane, so you have more kill potential. It also gives them grievous wounds so they heal less while it's on.
Runes
  • Inspiration
  • Sorcery: The Sorcery path gives you CC, better boots, more sustain and CDR.
  • Keystone
  • Glacial Augment: Glacial Augment gives a lot of CC. After you basic attack a champion the champion is slowed for 2 seconds. The slow increases up to its maximum strength over its duration. And that is from 30% when you first hit the enemy champ to 40% in the last second.

This rune works really good with Hextech GLP-800 and Twin Shadows, because when you slow an enemy champ with one of these a freeze ray shoots through them, freezing the nearby ground for 5 seconds, slowing all units inside by 60%. That is a lot of CC.

Glacial Augment makes it easier to stick to enemies and get away. Glacial Augment does have a 7-4 seconds cooldown per unit though.
  • Magical Footwear
  • Magical Footwear: Magical Footwear is the next rune and this rune makes you get free tier 1 boots that have additional +10 movement speed. It's easier to roam and survive later in the game because you are faster with these boots. They appear after 12 minutes, each takedown you make them come 45 seconds sooner.
  • Biscuit Delivery
  • Biscuit Delivery: This rune is really good for sustain early game. You get Total Biscuit of Everlasting Will at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00. Biscuits restore 10% of your missing health and mana over 5 seconds. Consuming any Biscuit increases your mana cap by 50 mana permanently.
  • Cosmic Insight
  • Cosmic Insight: Cosmic Insight gives +5% CDR, +5% Max CDR, +5% Summoner Spell CDR and +5% Item CDR
  • Domination
  • Domination: We take Domination to deal more damage to enemies with impaired movementspeed and we got a lot of that with this build. We also take this to get lower cooldown on our ultimate.

  • Cheap Shot
  • Cheap Shot: This rune help us deal more damage to the enemies that are slowed or charmed. Ahri deals 10-45 bonus true damage(based on level) to movement impaired champions.
  • Ultimate Hunter
  • Ultimate Hunter: This item gives Ahri less cooldown on her ultimate. Her ultimate gains 5% reduced cooldown, plus an additional 4% per Bounty Hunter stack. This helps us if we want to play aggressive lategame or if we want to have a better chance of surviving because our ultimate got a lower cooldown - so we can either jump in often or jump away often with our ult.
Abilities
PASSIVE
ABILITY
Vastayan Grace (Passive):
Whenever Ahri's spells hit a champion 2 times within a short period, she briefly gains movement speed.

Q
Orb of Deception (Q):
Ahri sends out and pulls back her orb, dealing magic damage on the way out and true damage on the way back. After earning several spell hits, Ahri's next orb hits will restore her health.

Deals 40/65/90/115/140 (+35% Ability Power) magic damage on the way out, and 40/65/90/115/140 (+35% Ability Power) true damage on the way back. Ahri's abilities generate Essence Theft stacks when they hit enemies. When she got enough stacks, Ahri's next Orb of Deception that lands a hit will restore health for each enemy hit.

W
Fox-Fire (W):
Ahri releases three fox-fires, that lock onto and attack nearby enemies.

Releases fox-fires that seek nearby enemies and deal 40/65/90/115/140 (+30% Ability Power) magic damage. Enemies hit with multiple fox-fires take 30% damage from each additional fox-fire beyond the first. Fox-fire prioritizes champions recently hit by Charm, then enemies Ahri recently attacked. If Fox-fire cannot find a priority target, it targets champions over the nearest enemy if possible.

E
Charm (E):
Ahri blows a kiss that damages and charms an enemy it encounters, instantly stopping movement abilities and causing them to walk harmlessly towards her. The target temporarily takes increased damage from Ahri.

Blows a kiss dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+40% Ability Power) magic damage and charms an enemy causing them to walk harmlessly towards Ahri for 1.4/1.55/1.7/1.85/2 second(s) and immediately stopping any in-progress movement abilities. Enemies hit by Charm become vulnerable for 3 seconds, taking 20% more damage from Ahri's abilities.

R
Spirit Rush (R):
Ahri dashes forward and fires essence bolts, damaging nearby enemies. Spirit Rush can be cast up to three times before going on cooldown.
Minion Control
I would recommend you to study this video because wave management/Minion Control is one of the most important skills in the game. If you master this you will climb!

Lore
“Human emotions can be more volatile than even the deepest magic.”

~ Ahri
Innately connected to the latent power of Runeterra, Ahri is a vastaya who can reshape magic into orbs of raw energy. She revels in toying with her prey by manipulating their emotions before devouring their life essence. Despite her predatory nature, Ahri retains a sense of empathy as she receives flashes of memory from each soul she consumes.
