Intro
Aurelion Sol is a constant damage control mage and burst mage. Aurelion Sol's kit makes him perfect for roaming and providing pressure in lanes. Contrary to some belief Aurelion Sol is actually amazingly strong in team fights and basically controls the entire outcome of the fight if played right. Aurelion Sol has really good peal with his CC and mobility but Aurelion Sol also has great engage.
The Rylai's rush build is often thought as an inferior build to the ROA build, but some people including me disagree. Manaflow Band provides more mana than ROA throughout the whole game. Building Rylai's first allows for an early power spike and early utility for your roams and team fights compared to the ROA build.

Early Game
Level one Aurelion Sol has higher DPS and pressure then any other mid laner. Due to Aurelion Sol's early game superiority you can shove the first three waves without any contest. If the enemy does attempt to contest you can easily take them down to near fatal health and finish them with an ignite. I like to abuse this power as much as possible on Aurelion Sol and use all my pots to take out the first three waves with my W. Once you got the first three waves you should be level three and have enough money for the first back. This allows you to get an easy and fast cs lead. don't forgot to use corrupting pot for the extra burn damage when poking.
Place a pink ward (control ward) in pixel brush either side. Use the ward to safely use your range to farm while sitting on that side of the lane. If someone attempts to gank you if you can use your E in the complete opposite direction of both enemies so make sure to save your E for either ganks or roams. in lane you still have the pressure. Use the pressure to take at least a twenty cs lead and lane priority. Once that is done roam to the lane which the enemy is about to be pushed up (you can tell this by lokking at the amount of minions) preferably roam to the lane that is winning the most on your team. Roam as often as you can (whenever you get priority). Once you are roaming DON'T use your Q before you get to lane rather use it when next to the enemy for an easy to hit hard to dodge stun and if you have to use your Q R combo.

Mid Game
You are the strongest person on your team for team fights. Look at the enemy like minions and line them up with your stars with constant damage. The most important thing in a team fight is the Q R combo. Use the combo when the whole team is clustered up together to take them below 50% health usually and stun them for your stars and the rest of your team (easy five man). Mid game you can travel quite far with your E meaning you can contest a lot of objectives and be there for most of the team fights.
Late Game
Full build you should be able to do immense damage and clear large waves with ease. Focus on using your stars to either defend or push. Contest objectives and win team fights with your Q R combo again. Use your E to travel half way across the map. Don't let the enemy get baron or drake use your E to ensure this.
Conclusion
Stay with your team and use your mobility to impact all around the map wether at top, bot, drake, baron, herald, your base or enemy base. Use your Q R W combo to win every fight. Position yourself to hit as many stars as possible.
