I can't stress how specific the early part of this build is. You can do anything you want after your first item, and the build becomes incredibly open and creative, but you have to survive to get there.

There's a reason my main boy Blitz isn't taken in other lanes, and that's due to his awful lack of defense, mobility, and utility he needs to survive on his own. What people don't know, is how he makes up for that in his ability to surprise the enemy laner.

This is the meat of the guide. I'll make it simple.

Hail of blades makes blitzcrank's early game trades actually pack a punch. You can't farm against a lot of enemy top lane champs, but you shouldn't be afraid of them either. Every time your scorch/cheap shot are up, feel free to hook, e, and curb stomp the ever loving **** out of them. Just don't go for extended trades.

If you do this correctly, you can drop the health of other enemy top laner so fast they'll actually have a heart attack. Most end up *****ing out, and running away, and that's fine, let them. You're on CD. Bide your time. Patience is key.

Once your hail of blades is worn off, you basically have no attack speed, or abilities. W hardly boosts your attack speed at all without other items to help it out, so don't think it does. w instead should either be used to escape, or chase down. It's also fine to use it to secure grabs, but it's going to slow you, and waste mana. The difference in a good and bad top lane blitz is knowing when to W and when not to W.

When you're not trying to take them out to lunch, you're going to TRY to farm. If the enemy is just pusing you into tower, that ends up actually working for you, because you can get some cheeky kills at the tower with hook. Top laners don't know how to deal with this.

Alternatively, you can let your JG come in for the gank, and just walk at your overconfident enemy who's SURELY been dancing behind his minion line, thinking he's safe from your hook while he farms. The second you walk at him, he'll know he's being ganked, but it wont matter because he can't get away from you. If he could, blitz literally wouldn't have a single strength. Use the opportunity to tilt your enemy off the face of the rift.


Your first item is Titanic Hydra. No "should be" or "I think you should". No, your first item is Hydra. It gives you raw stats, which synergize with your autos and hail of blades, gives you waveclear which you desperately need, and makes you tanky. I wanted to make a less tanky bruiser blitz work, but trust me... You have to do this, or nothing. I'd say build it, and then try another game with something else, but you'd be wasting a game.

Q:Why don't I take a different rune if I'm going to be a bruiser? Why not grasp, or conqueror?

A:Because they don't work towards the early game. You've got short trade burst damage, and you need to abuse hail of blades to get that damage off. Nothing else compares, and you're not trying to build for late game. Blitz has a hard time sticking to people late.
