Teemo on Duty

Unfortunately Teemo could not be with us tonight, he's kicking *** with the build I gave him.

Hello and welcome to my Teemo guide, Teemo on Duty! This guide (unlike others) will not have walls of text on it

This guide includes the items I use, why I use them, tips and tricks for success, and eventually the summary.

Note, if you read my Garen guide, you will see it is very similar, I use my guides as templates for each other.
I request you to read the entire guide because this build is difficult to play.

Let the Duty begin!

Playing Teemo

There are lots of ways to play Teemo, personally I started at AD Teemo, moved to AP and finally to On Hit Teemo until I was messing around with builds on Blind Pick Normal games.

So now, I play Teemo with this build, and I play him at the Top lane, since I main it.

Although this build seems weird, I promise you, try it, and you will own if you use it correctly.

Pros and Cons

Teemo has lots of Pros, yet a lot of Cons that are able to affect your gameplay.
Additionally, I listed how do I counter each and every one of these Cons in order to make gameplay easier.

Note that the Pros and Cons are relative to this guide build only!

Pros:__________
  1. Lots of Movement Speed.
  2. Passive Damage Over Time
  3. Blindness
  4. Global Shrooms (Free Wards!)
  5. Incredible Attack Speed
  6. Extreme Kiter
  7. If build completed, less squishy than other Teemos.
  8. Shouldn't have ANY Mana Problems.

Cons:__________
  1. Very low health Early-Mid game.
  2. Dead if caught out of position.
  3. Must get fed in order to be effective.
  4. Short Range compared to other ranged champions (Credit to 'Squirtle').

Couldn't think of any more Cons, if anyone has any please comment them and let me know.

Runes, Masteries, and Summoner Spells

Runes

Since Teemo's abilities stack with AP and deal Magic Damage, I decided to go with:
  1. Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
  2. Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power
  3. Greater Quintessence of Ability Power

With some care not to die, Greater Seal of Armor.

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

Masteries

Summoner Spells

Actually, the first time I played with this build I took Flash over Ghost which is completely fine, but for even more movement speed (and for those trying for the first time), I'd recommend Flash, if you're expirianced with this build, take Ghost instead.

And of course, Ignite, good ol' Ignite, for kill securing.
If you don't like Ignite, I'd recommend Flash, Ghost, Exhaust or Heal.

Item Explanation

This is probably the chapter you were waiting for, build, so weird, yet apparently, it works.

Let's begin.

We start with Boots and Three Health Potions.
Why? Because it's 450 effective health and gives us ~375 Movement Speed (without Move Quick) which is amazing.

Then when we go back to base, we buy Boots of Swiftness, which boosts our movement speed a ton, this is when you can start kiting as you please.
Time for damage, great passive from Wit's End.
And more movement speed from Zeal to Phantom Dancer.

Now for the most expensive item in the game, Trinity Force.
Why Trinity Force on Teemo?
It's not good!
Well, it gives everything that Teemo needs.
  1. Health
  2. Mana
  3. Attack Damage
  4. Ability Power
  5. Movement Speed
  6. Attack Speed

All of the stats I mentioned above are GREAT on Teemo. So why not to buy Trinity Force? It takes only ONE item slot!

Now for the Most Used Hybrid weapon... Hextech Gunblade!

Life Steal! Spell Vamp! Attack Damage! Ability Power!
So much in one weapon, you just have to get it.

Finally more sustain from Rylai's Crystal Scepter, and you're a killing machine.

Tips and Tricks

In the Tips and Tricks section I'll be telling you what to do, and what to not.

Do use Move Quick whenever you're not in lane.
Do harass your opponents with basic attacks.
Do use Ghost when both chasing and fleeing.
Do last hit creeps.
Do go help other lanes.
Do buy wards.
Do place the wards you bought.

Do Not destroy turret too early.
Do Not lose your turret too early.
Do Not commit into a 1v1 fight, as you will most likely lose.
Do Not let your lane opponent farm freely.
Do Not let your lane opponent have full health.
Do Not intentionally use the Trinity Force damage bonus proc as it doesn't do lots of damage.

Who to Counter with Teemo?

Darius, the Hand of Noxus.

An extremely strong champion that can pull you ( Apprehend), slow you ( Crippling Strike), Decimate you ( Decimate), another couple of Hemorrhage stacks, and Noxian Guillotine to kill you.

Not to mention the fact that he's building tanky and able to deal tons of damage anyways.

Anyways, Teemo is a decent counter to Darius since Darius is a very slow champion, unlike Teemo who is really fast thanks to Move Quick you're able to get a hit in and run away.

Do that often, deny all of his gold, ask for jungle ganks (preferred before level 6) and he will be so underfed you will be able to kill him easily.

So, deny gold, deny creeps, deny kills, deny exp, and he will not be tanky enough to kill you before you kill him.

Note, that if you get caught by Apprehend you're probably dead, but it has a very short range, so keep that in mind.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Tryndamere, the Barbarian King.

Tryndamere is a very strong champion. He has critical strike percent with no items ( Battle Fury), a gap closer ( Spinning Slash), a slow and a debuff ( Mocking Shout), a self buff and a heal ( Bloodlust), and not to mention his ultimate, Undying Rage, which causes him not to die for the next five seconds.

Teemo, is an excellent counter to Tryndamere, because Blinding Dart causes all basic attacks to miss, and since Tryndamere relies on basic attacks, Blinding Dart simply shuts down his damage output.

Additionally, Toxic Shot will damage him for the next four seconds, so if you use a couple extra basic attacks, he will die if his heal is on cooldown.

Tip! -When he uses his ultimate, run, and then stop, cause him to follow you until his ultimate turns down, then chase him and use one basic attack to kill him.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Master Yi, the Wuju Bladesman.

Master Yi is actually a very weak champion. Either he dominates all, or he sucks.
Teemo is one of the two best counters to Master Yi, because he relies on his basic attacks as well.

Don't be scared to fight him, after he uses Alpha Strike, simply use Blinding Dart on him, and keep fighting, you would usually win, unless he's smart, and use Meditate while he's blinded.

Although, if he does use Meditate while blinded, you should just run and wait for cooldowns. Using this build, you will be as fast as he is (usually) even when he uses Highlander.

Tip! -If it is an AP Master Yi, use Blinding Dart right after he uses Alpha Strike in order so that his Lich Bane proc' will be useless.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Irelia, the Will of the Blades.

Now, Irelia is overpowered. Yes, still.
She's gonna charge right at you, use Hiten Style to deal tons of true damage, and when you run, oh, you can't.
She will use Equilibrium Strike to slow you down, and it's probably a perma slow, since most Irelia's buy Trinity Force, and the slow it provides is gonna destroy you.

Oh, forgot to mention, most Irelia's will also buy Wit's End, to deal even more Magic, Physical and True damage even faster!

What you want to do is to keep at least one shroom with you doesn't matter what.

When she charges at you, use Blinding Dart and place a shroom ( Noxious Trap) where she is so it'll explode on her.
If you did that correctly, you will win the trade and it'll end up with her running away.

Tip! - Equilibrium Strike will stun you if she has lower percent health than you have!
So if you're both low, but she is lower, go recall and don't fight.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Jax, Grandmaster at Arms.

Jax is a very powerful Top Laner, but he also relies on his basic attacks, try to poke him around and not to go into a serious fight with him, since he will probably win with his Counter Strike, which will dodge all of your basic attacks (yes, you rely on them too), and in the end of it he will stun you.

Try to force his Counter Strike and only then fight him.

If you fail to do that but you still want to fight, be aware of Grandmaster-At-Arms as it deals so much damage, and gives him resistances if he uses it's active.

Getting Boots of Swiftness before Wit's End will help you a lot, because you can run away until Counter Strike is over, and then start attacking.

Solid Proof That This Works

I've decided to add a proof since a member which I won't remind his name (AceOfHearts) said and I quote: "not valid -.-"

Which is weird, I'm pretty sure that he did not try the build as a different person (Kreeyz) said and I quote: "NICE GUIDE! I played this but i don't bought ryjali...got guinso and I done quad xD!"

So yeah, he got a quad, other said it's not valid. Anyways, time for proof.

Send me your scores at the comment box, I promise I'll put them here.
