This is a horrible lane if you don't know how to play it, poke him from the distance, never go melee, use your W after his E + W to avoid the slow. Never fight him if he has ignite or corruption potion.

Introduction

Hi there, this is my first guide so i hope you understand its design lol, also english is not my first language so please forgive any grammatical fails.

I'm a GP main since his rework, i'm going to show you how can you play with GP and enjoy league once more, also, im not in high rank because i don't like to rank much.

Why Gangplank?

Well, because GP it's a badass and a fun champion. You can your E and destroy the enemy team if fed enough, you can help your team without risking your life with your ult, you are extremly strong now with kleptomancy, and because you're the KING of Bilgewater, what else can you ask for?

Pros / Cons

+ Fun to play - Hard to master
+ Strong mid - late game - Squishy early game
+ good teamfighter - Useless before Triforce
+ Global ult - Build is expensive

How's Gangplank doing this season?

With the kleptomancy rune he is pretty strong right now, he is still squishy af early levels and struggle a bit but not as much as he use to did on S7. His early ain't the best but his mid - late game is awesome cause you get your power spike much early in the game thanks to kleptomancy.

Runes

I like to play GP in two different ways.

1. Kleptomancy page, good against tanks, bruisers, almost all top champs, good money later in the game.

2. Grasp of the undying, this rune works so good when playing against "irelia, riven, jayce" kind of champions, gives you bruiser potential, health regen and an early HP boost.

Then, how can i do to not struggle on lane?

Simple, play safe... going aggro against someone like Darius its stupid, instead you can poke him, get some nice gold from klepto and farm from the distance. Don't be stupid in lane unless you have an advantge like sheen early, in that case you should be using your Q only to poke and not to farm.

How to get good at GP?

Practice, practice and more practice. GP its a pretty hard and high mechanical champion, things like muscular memory are needed, if you want to climb and be a good GP there's not other way than practice. You need to know how to use your abilities propperly, using W against hard CC, placing barrels in good positions, propper use of ult, avoid aggro on minions when you Q the enemy, those things only come with practice.

So.. i know all of this stuff, what's next?

If you feel you're good at GP then you gotta test yourself on ranks, see how well you do in a real game and judge if you still need some practice.

Most important part.

HAVE FUN! Gangplank is a very enjoyable champ, but if you're a person that tilts very easily then you're gonna have a bad time playing him. Don't tilt, enjoy your mistakes, enjoy the laning, enjoy the champion.
