Hey guys, I'm TurtlyMage. I'm a Yorick main here on the NA server. Yorick is beyond underrated right now, and if played correctly, he is a monster! Read on to learn some tips and tricks on the Shepherd of Souls!

Masteries are quite simple here on Yorick. Runic Armor stacks with his Q, so always take that over V-Scars. Swiftness helps Yorick alot, as CC annihilates him, so some tenacity is always welcome! Grasp is definitely the best choice here with Yorick. Stoneborn is practically useless on him, and so is Courage. Literally the only way to proc courage with Yorick is to time his W just right so enemies get knocked up around the edge. Not worth it. Grasp is the way to go!

is always needed on Yorick. He has no escape, other his , so he really needs it to keep him going.
is great for this guy. It lets him split push another lane while the maiden does her job, it can set up a huge 5 man bot gank, or even steal a dragon or baron. This should always be taken in Yorick, no exceptions. In my opinion, is a waste on Yorick. Don't take it.

Yorick's main source damage early on comes from his Q, Last Rites Last Rites. This needs to be maxed first so your damage output early on soars up, and you will now be able to get ghouls faster, due to your Q's passive. Now, choosing what to max next is up to your matchup. If you're against someone with a pretty low cd dash, like Fiora, Tryndamere, or Urgot (jk), you max your E, Mourning Mist first. If against someone with super slow auto 's, especially early, like Pantheon, or Dr. Mundo, then you max your W, Dark Procession first! However, against someone with an auto attack reset, like Darius, Renekton, or Camille, max your q, then go ahead and give your wall 3 levels, so it now has 3hp, then max E, then finish off W! Easy 😊

Pros: Cons:
-Amazing scaling, especially with 7.14. No way to escape ganks
-Unexpected damage. Early game nerfed in 7.14
-Best split pushers in the game (imo) Needs Tri-Force quickly
-max hp damage!!

In lane, you want to act passively until you hit level two or three. Wait until you have four graves, and both your wall and Mourning Mist are up. Then, quickly hit Q twice, and land your E. If you do so, then put up your [Dark Procession]]. Also, never, ever, go in for a trade, or fight back without ghouls or ult. You will lose. Just act like a humble, first time Yorick. Then bam, there goes 3/4 of their hp.

Yorick has a pretty good team fight, if he has ghouls. If he has his ult, he's a monster. If he has neither, he's basically useless. Be sure to have ult up, or go quickly farm raptors with your Last Rites, so you get your ghouls. In a team fight, your main goal is to let your maiden target a semi-tanky or squishy champ, then Q them to death. If you have an assassin, like Zed or Kayn, then target the enemy with heavy cc, as they'll probably be looking to kill that assassin with that cc.
