Almost self-explanatory. Yes, he has sustain, but otherwise, its self-explanatory
Darius
You need to be boosted to get hit by the blade of Dariuses Q in range form. U should destroy him early, and thats why he's at threat level 1.
Malphite
Malph is another one of those champions who you destroy early. And yes, he stacks amor, but 1. This build has a lot of amor pen and 2. You get a shot when you change to ranged form, what reduces your enemy's amor and MR, so its like built-in amor pen.
Garen
Another melee champ. He has move speed in his Q, but so do you in your range-E. Just poke him down and you'll be fine.
Singed
PFFFT, not even a challenge.
Olaf
Is annoying because of the sustain, but late game will just be hell to the Olaf.
Illaoi
Absolutely 0 mobility, but has sustain and alot of 1v1 potential. You'll be fine pre-6, but don't fight her up close.
Mordekaiser
LOTS OF DAMAGE, but his melee. Although having a very annoying passive, he's still melee. And has 0 mobility.
Ekko
Since Tank Ekko has been nerfed a crap ton (R.I.P Tenkko), his not that hard to lane against anymore.
Yorick
Has much damage, a shit ton of sustain, gets tanky with only a few items and is just a pain in the ass.
Dr. Mundo
Health regen too op.
Rumble
Has a nice little shield, good poke and very much damage. I suggest actually banning him if you just picked up Jayce, just if you wanna be secure. But if ur a pro Jayce, u can rip his rusty robot a new asshole. (And if u are a pro Jayce, what are u doing in my guide?).
Hecarim
Heca's E is so annoying. He will juke your E-Q if he's smart, and will be disruptive. And don't get me started on his ult. Ask the jungle for ganks, cuz you will need them. Alot.
Nasus
Has on my opinion the second best sustain in the whole game. If you can, deny as much stacks as possible. If you go behind, you must roam or ask the jungle for ganks.
Vladimir
Theres so many sustain champs in this threat list, but Vlad takes the cake. This bloody vampire will heal up every single one of your E-Q combos. And he gets so tanky. BAN HIM.
Swain
Swain was one of the bigger threats, but thank god rito game nerfed his ult. You should still be pretty careful, as he still has his ult and is tacky later. You can still 1v1 him somewhat decently.
Irelia
Mobile, disruptive, CC,sustain, high damage, and kinda tanky. Only way you can win her is to wreck her early pre-6.
Lucian
NIGGA STOLE MY BIKE!!!! (No offence to the blacks ofc plz don't hate me :<)
Fizz
Like Irelia, Fizz has mobility, CC and high damage. But unlike Irelia, you can win Fizz in a 1v1 anytime if you play smart. This is for tank Fizz.
Cho'Gath
Really great sustain and to follow up, a knock up and a silence. Only counterplay is playing smart or boots.
Nautilus
Is so tanky and has 4 cc spells. if you get hooked, you need to atleast burn flash or fight. And if you get ranked and u don't have flash, ur pretty screwed.
Volibear
UUUUGH, I hate Volibear so goddamn much. He is not that hard to lane against, but his kit is so annoying to me. Just try to run away when he tries to flip you and you'll be fine.
Maokai
Has a point and click root and if Maokai lands his Q perfectly when you get ganked, its tilt worthy.
Trundle
Stay out of his range to attack you and you will be fine. His pillar is very annoying though, so that may make it a little easier for him to get in range for you.
Sion
Really depends on if the player knows or doesn't know what their doing. If the Sion can get in range of harming you, your fucked, but since i haven't seen a lot of really good Sion players around, so i put it here.
Poppy
Poppy can be dangerous if she knows how to stun you properly and do a nice combo. She can also W ur Hammers Q.
Urgot
He's really short ranged and needs very much mana to poke you. If your not a total potato, you should win.
Renekton
Renekton is like Irelia. Has CC, tons of damage, sustain, tankiness and mobility. He can still fuck up early and make you win the lane. Still, very hard matchup, so play it wisely.
Gnar
Like Urgot, Gnar has some range, but 1. Its less than Jayce and 2. Mega Gnar is meelee, so thats an advantage.
Tahm Kench
Patch 6.13 changes made this fag so strong. If Tahm gets close, you are basically screwed, no way around it. You can win later, but unless your jungler doesn't rank you alot, you are going to struggle early.
Pretty sustainy, and has a nice ton of damage, but I think that Jayce will win.
Gangplank
Not even a challenge. GP is all about farming, but you are so pokey that you shouldn't give him as much as he needs.
Graves
Graves has shorter range than you, yes, but he's so bursty that i wouldn't fight him up close after 6.
Heimerdinger
Turrets get destroyed by ur E-Q so easily. Definetly a easy matchup.
Kayle
Skill dependant matchup. Good Jayce players can bait her ult, and starting Jayce players will probably not.
Kennen
PFFF, Kennen. The stun is definetly annoying, but its very easy the predict his flash ults.
Jax
My god, that leap and stun are annoying. This is a skill dependant lane, so if you just picked up Jayce, you are screwed.
Tryndamere
If he has a rune page like RossBoomSock's Trynd, he can have up to 65% crit chance at lvl 1. And he's sustain is next level bs. And that ult, goddamn.
Corki
May be surprising, but I have faced a Corki as Jayce before, and I have heard that he's a legit toplaner, and it kinda works. But he's not a threat, because he has no forms of real cc. I mean yes, you can knock away with your special delivery, but its not really that effective towards Jayce.
Xin Zhao
As long as you deny him from autoattacking, you should be fine, as Xin has sustain only when he autos 3 times. Yes, he's capable of jumping to you, but you are capable of knocking him back.
Cassiopeia
Cass is annoying. She has so much kiting potential, which is bad for Jayce, especially when her W makes your leap inactive. A good Cassiopeia can destroy you, and a bad Cassiopeia can destroy you.
Riven
A lot of people say riven is a tough matchup for Jayce, but i don't really agree. She's mobile yes, but as long as you keep your distance you should be fine.
Malzahar
Baaargh, where to start. Has passive what blocks 90% damage taken, making Jayces E+Q as cannon stance deal no damage. The same passive makes Malz immune to cc making your E as hammer stance useless. Luckily, this has a long cooldown, but god damn is it annoying. Wasn't enough? Well he has a silence, a shit ton of poke and a stun that lasts forever. As long as Malzahar top is a thing, you can ban him or enjoy your loss.
Pantheon
His passive blocks 1 auto attack, and to recharge this passive, he needs to autoattack 5 times. He has a stun that lasts forever and that stun refreshes his passive, and he throws spears like a madman. Not for me, thanks.
Ryze
The rework made Ryze so op, and he should be permabanned before some nerfs.
Lissandra
Lissandra has alot of cc in her pocket, and has an escape. Try to hit ur E-Q's though, as she is weak to high range poke and has no sustain.
Passive is like a second life, so you can't all in her unless she tower dives, has a stun, can block your way, has great damage and harass and has a slow. Do I need to carry on?
Ahri
Ahris pretty mobile, making sure she dodges your E+Q as cannon, charm has a pretty large hitbox and has a lot of burst.
Azir
Has a lot of poke and is mobile, but is surprisingly easy to face against, especially if the Azir is bad. Only bad thing about this matchup is that you can't leap to him while his ult is up, so be aware of that.
Annie
Ugh, her range is just unbelievably large, has burst and has a point and click cc in her passive. For this matchup, I recommend getting QSS quickly and finishing it to Scimitar, replacing Iceborn.
Aurelion Sol
Aurelion doesn't give you a tough time at all. His passive/W is pretty easy to dodge, he's Q isn't that large if Aurelion hasn't moved besides it (in other words, pretty easy to dodge) and has mobility only if he hasn't been attacked. He has disengage thought, but unlike with Azir, you can just leap back to him.
Fizz
Fizz is very slippery, and can get away of your all ins pretty easily. He also has high amounts of burst, which make him a great assassin, in other words a great Jayce counter.
Lulu
Lulu is another great Jayce counter, because she can polymorph Jayce when he tries to leap and all in Lulu. She also has a shield, movement speed and she can get a lot of health with her ult.
Taliyah
This matchup is actually easy, Taliyah has almost no actual burst if she doesn't get her E-W combo on you, and her Q is pretty easy to dodge.
LeBlanc
Like Fizz, LeBlanc is slippery and bursty, imo even more bursty than Fizz, which makes her so fucking annoying. I avoid this matchup as much as possible, and if she is picked, I will just roam and pray for a better late game.
Zed
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO NOOOOOOOO! *Death Mark asplodes*
Katarina
Joyce has everything Katarina doesn't want... range, damage and disengage. If Kata jumps to you, just hammer-E her away, its pretty easy.
Syndra
Just dodge her balls, you'll be fine if you can dodge them, but if you don't, uuuh, lets not talk about it.
Brand
Another bursty champion, but like syndra, you just need to dodge his W and Q, you can win pretty easily.
Ekko
After the buffs to AP Ekko, he has became really powerful, so if you see 2 rings under you, RUN. If you see a big circle up you, RUN. If you are close to Ekko's hologram, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. Otherwise ask your jungle for ganks and kill this little boy.
Yasuo
A pretty easy matchup, you can range-autoattack his shield, you can pretty easily dodge his tornado, and you can use E+Q again if he windwalled you other E+Q combo, because windwall has a long cooldown, and he may be bad at using his dash. If he's good though ask jungle for ganks because you will struggle.
Hello, and welcome to my somewhat detailed Jayce guide. Note that English isn't my first language, so there might be some flaws. Note that this is my first guide too, so it may not be that great. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy this guide :).
