How Is Kog'Maw currently in patches after 5.5 Patch?

After recent(5.5) tank buffs I think he will become a little bit more viable, he is unpopular in soloq, but still a good competetive pick.

Ap Kog however is pretty strong for soloq, curent meta favors tanks(and not assasins) thefore his good poke from a big range is strong now

What made him Valiable in S4?

As we have gone further in Season 4 patches, the more Kog'Maw has benefited.

- Kog buffs
- Attack speed runes over AD
- Bloodthirster meta trashed

Kog nerfs

(4.12-4.14 patches):

- reduced movement speed
- reduced a small amount of damage from his ult
- Some of his flat health taken and put to health per level

Theses nerfs doesn't hurt bad, it's hard to feel something happened. It does NOT change the Kog'Maw's gameplay(unless ap Kog'Maw.

+ Ultimate Tank Shredding
+ Works well after season 4 items changes
+ Tons of damage



Cons




- No escapes/gap closers
- Weak until get's his core
- Spells are puke based(yuck!)
- Many skillshots

It's no problem at all to use your Usual adc runes, I just wrote the runes Samsung's Deft is using for his ad Kog'Maw, I don't use them myself.

The build is pretty much set in stone.
Build Blade of the Ruined King before Trinity Force If you are behind.(Enemy got more farm and kills)
you can switch them if it's more comfortable for you too

Ussual Adc Boots. But of course you can build other more bizzare shoes, like mercury's threads or Boots of Swiftness

Core Item for Kog'Maw, all stats are good for him including Ap, mana. Also spellblade (trinity passive) works fine with him

His changes in 4.10 patch made it another must have item on Kog'Maw, with your Bio-Arcane Barrage maxed and Botrk, you will deal 14% bonus damage of enemy health on hit. (6% - magic dmg, 8% - physical dmg)

Kog'Maw's job is to get rid of tanks ASAP, so Last Whisper is a great option for increasing your DPS

filler Use your Living Artillery behind your target and if he starts running closer to you punish him ooooooooo with Bio-Arcane Barrage and Caustic Spittle

filler After taking enemy inhibitor, DON'T proceed to take Nexus turrets unless at least 1 enemy is filler123456 dead. Otherwise go back to base, group, take Baron[ or push any other lane to inhibitor. if it filler456789 becomes too dangerous move to other lane.

!Don't forget to win you need to destroy enemy Nexus!

Flash is a Must have summoners spell for ADCs
Change Heal into Barrier if facing ---> Tristana or ---> Miss Fortune as enemy adc, because of thier healing reduction.
