Introduction
Hey guys and welcome to my Lux guide! Lux is one of my favored champions, as well as many other long ranged-poke heroes! Lux's mid-end game potential is awesome. Her ult has such a low cd, that you could spam it to wave clear, or just simply deal tons of damage (Inb4 Phreak Trinity Force ) to the enemy as often as you like! The enemy will be begging for mercy >:)
I hate long and super comprehensive builds which go into detail on things which don't even need to be covered! This build will provide simple, but efficient details on why I chose the things I did for this build. Now about meh :D
My name is Sam, I play on the NA server and I'm am currently in Silver 1 trying to get out. I've done promo a few times but I'm working on getting out! Although this Lux guide may get weird, hear me out! With these tricks on Lux you will guaranteed win every single one of your games, ranked or not.
The items used in this particular Lux guide may vary from other Lux guide.
Four main items that should always be built on Lux are Rabadon's Deathcap, Void Staff, Liandry's Torment and Morellonomicon.
Morellonomicon because of its Cooldown Reduction, will fuse perfectly with either Ionian Boots of Lucidity or Mejai's Soulstealer, and make your Final Spark be available all the time, so you can spam it! Mejai's is completely situational since you must have some sort of early lead to play on with it, but Morellonomicon is key to a perfect Lux player.
Rabadon's Deathcap does not need an explanation. This item is absolutely awesome on most long range AP Carries. Nothing really compares to this item except maybe a Zhonya's Hourglass.
Void Staff will make or break you. It's cheap and efficient. The Magic Pen. + The Ability Power forced into this one item will make you almost as powerful as Veigar. Almost.
Liandry's Torment is an amazing item for Lux. Not only does the passive of this item work with your passive, it works with your Final Spark and this could be catasrophic for them. The burn based off the enemies maximum health will make you facestomp the tanks as well as the squishy yordles. Basicly a Blade of the Ruined King alternative for Ap carries, in bursts.
At the top of the page, you will find which items to buy if you are against HIGH Ap or HIGH Ad.

CLAIRVOYANCE
Why would you take this summoner spell? Well, this summoner spell will help you exponentially when used properly. In fusion with your 35% CDR (Morello + CDR Boots), You will locate wherever they are hiding, spam your Final Spark because of your low cdr, and snipe their faces clean off. Of course, only use this spell if you are skilled enough with Lux.FLASH
Extremely viable spell. The may be the only counter to heavy gap closers (usually). This may also cost you a life if your Light Binding (Q) is on CD.Other viable summoners:
Great for adding extra damage to your insane burst, or just to finish someone off.
Will help you Barrier bait your opponents, and to simple push off a little bit of the damage you take, since you are squishy. My only problem with Barrier is that is lasts for so little hence it can get countered easily if your opponent knows how to react. :(
This spell is awesome. It get save you from missing creeps, get you closer to teamfights, and to simply zoom across the map. Great spell w/ High CD.
Don't Get These Wtf:
You have the range you don't need this.
How?
You arn't junging, and arn't using the stupid smite the minions every 70 seconds in lane "meta" -.-
The masteries in this guide are very diffrent from the standard 21-0-9, most Ap Mids have.
I chose to take Summoner's Insight and Wanderer in the Utility because of the Flash and CV buffs from Summoner's Insight and the extra movement speed from Wanderer.
In the defensive tree, I took Resistance because I was lacking magic resist in my rune page. This may be completely useless if you're against a Talon, Jayce, Zed, etc. in mid lane, so you may transfer the points from Resistance to Hardiness .
All the spells taken from the Offensive tree will simply make you deal insanely enormous amounts of damage. Be sure to spam your abilities hella hard on squishy opponents like Teemo, or any other yordle for that matter >:)

The skill sequence for Lux is simple. You definately want to max your E first for insane bursts of damage, and your Q second for a high burst. Your W is not very nessecary unless you are playing support Lux, which you are not.
Take Final Spark at level 6, level 11 and level 16 to be the best <3

Don't be afraid to use your PASSIVE ( Illumination) to last hit! You can also use this passive to add tons of damage to your autoattacks if you've hit them with your abilities.
Your E ( Lucent Singularity), is the best way to harrass your opponent. The aoe is great for farming or harassing from a distance!
One thing most people don't know is when to use your Final Spark. It should be used to damage in teamfights, of course, but when you want to farm with your Final Spark, do NOT use it before a teamfight. The could be reason you lose the teamfight, because you ulted top lane for 4 creeps, instead of using it on your opponents.

Well, this was my "short and effective" guide on playing Lux, and using her mechanics. Feel free to leave any feedback, I will gladly take your criticism into consideration when making my next ones/tweaking this one.
Next Guide will be on icon=xerath size=65. STAY TUNED! :D
