Runes

Ok, you might be wondering, DAFAQ?! CDR RUNES?! well yea, and heres why. Your a spell user with no mana costs, so your only restricted by cool downs, like

I take Armorpen Quints, so my harass at early levels are better and my enemy gets weaker which makes my first blood capabilities even better. I feel these are the best quints for

You might be thinking: "why not armor seals that scale?", well because in the early game, it gives you enough armor so that later on, you make up for it in damage.
My Starting Items:
This is my starting item set, and I believe this is what all
Rengar players should start with. This is because of how much damage
Rengar can deal early game and if you feel like you need a hp boost in the middle of the fight, click the fort pot and it will be done.
Mid game items:
You might be wondering, why
Kindlegem? it gives no AD, and only gives you CDR with some HP. Well thats exactly why I got it.
Rengar has CRAZY LONG Cooldowns, and to compensate, you should get some CDR, as CDR helps in ferocity gain and dueling potential. Tiamat is to build into
Ravenous Hydra, as it gives the most AD in the game (aside from full stacked
Bloodthirster) and the lifesteal given is awesome. The active can help finish off enemies so your killing potential goes higher!
End game finish Items:
This is my end game set, and it is in my opinion, the strongest ending for
Rengar. The Zekes applies to you and your ADC, which is why I got it, the [Last Whisper]] is to help me kill the ADC faster and come back to deal with the tanks.
Youmuu's Ghostblade is awesome on
Rengar, it gives Armor Penetration, Attack Speed Active and AD. You will quite literally shred tanks with this item.
Ravenous Hydra is explained before, as it gives Life steal, Great active and AD.
Situational Items (Boots included):
All these items are situational.
Mercury's Treads are when the Enemy has a strong AP side and/or has a lot of CC.
Ninja Tabi is for AD Team comps and when the ADC is strong.
Boots of Swiftness is when the enemy has a lot of slows, liks
Nasus or
Dr. Mundo.
Ionian Boots of Lucidity is when your ahead and you want more kills, as the CDR is really good.
Mobility Boots is when you lost your lane or won your lane early and want to help other lanes via roaming.
Spirit Visage is another viable upgrade from
Kindlegem as it gives you MR, CDR and HP. IT also increases your
Battle Roar Healing.

These should be your ideal summoner spells, as it allows you to reposition, escape as well as to chase.

Other Viable Summoner Spells:

These are the only 3 i would recommend if your either: Not high enough level, or a beginner to

Early game:
Leashe your jungler if you have to or defend the jungle, then head to lane. After you head to lane, go into a brush and wait for the minion to get low, then jump on it with
Savagery.
Rengar's early game is a lot more competitive now due to the Q CD. you can get 5 ferocity really quickly at level 1 and jump on them. So the new combo would be to work up 5 feroocity, jump on them with a regular Auto-Attack, then immediately use
Empowered Savagery for the AD boost, then do another auto attack and finish off with a regular
Savagery this should be enough for first blood, as your
Savagery got buffed by
Empowered Savagery. Make sure to farm.
Mid game:
By now you should have 150 to 200 CS and have a few items built already, your target is to: Kill the tower -> roam -> win other lanes/repair them. Before ganking, try to make sure you have some ferocity before doing so, stay in the brush if your ult isn't on. your ganks should be simple. Try to jump on them and wait for max ferocity, and try to snare them with
Bola Strike. If there are minions, just kill them instead. Take dragons often.
Late game:
By now, your team should have either: Taken an inhib or lost an inhib, won or lost baron, lost or taken a few dragons, farmed a total of at least 250 CS. At this point you want to make sure you move as a team and not soloing, unless you know the enemy has just lost a team fight and you can split push. Ask your team to add pressure to another lane, and split push yourself, since
Rengar's split pushing skills are exremely fast, the will be forced to come to you, bait them in and ult out, this will make them extremely pissed because 4 of your teammates probably took a tower or 2, in exchange they failed to catch you out of position. Try to take an inhib and go for baron, as it will change the game in your favor. Your burst potential will be so high, it will seem like the enemy ADC was never there. Good luck winning!

Never engage
Never tank turrets (unless it's for your ADC to kill the tower)
Don't ult early
Don't ult late
ALWAYS FOCUS THE ADC
Defend your ADC
Engage AFTER the enemy has blown some CC on your tanks
It is ok to build tanky, your burst still hurts
Harass:
with
->
Easy and simple, walk away with little damage done to you thanks to
Battle Roar.
All in kill (Damage):
->
->
->
->
->
->
This is your all in damage combo. It is pretty much a 100% way to kill your opponent (unless they built armor). This is what you should always do to the enemy ADC as the team fight begins. You can also use this in lane, AFTER you harass them a bit. Chances are, your opponent in top lane should be building
Ninja Tabi or something Armor related.
All in Kill (Heal):
->
->
->
->
->
This is when you have lower health then your opponent. Jump on them and heal so you don't instantly blow up, and spam the rest of your abilities. This should be when both of you aren't at full health and the enemy should be either at 50% HP or just below 50%. Although you shouldn't really do this with extremely low health, like when you have 15% - 20% HP.
All in Kill (Snare/Gank):
->
->
->
->
->
->
This is when your ganking another laneor chasing an enemy. Snare them then re-apply the slow with another
Bola Strike then proceed with the rest of the abilities. If your friend is smart, then this should be an easy kill regardless.

Ok, you might be wondering: "No match ups? WHAT A NOOB!". Well, heres my opinion on match ups sections, you don't gain experience with it. Sure it might give you tips, but everyone is different, and play styles can be different. The only reason match ups are good is so that it can teach you how to beat "top lane" champs. If it included all 100+ characters, your looking for hours of typing. What you need, is to understand the game itself better, so if you want advice here:
Vs Mana Champs:
- Make them waste mana trying to duel you
- go in when low on mana
- go in when they blew an ability on creeps
- harass when possible
Vs non-mana champs:
- wait for spells to go on CD, then engage
- harass when possible
Vs high sustain Champs:
- Harass a lot
- Try not to duel too much
Vs Tanky Champs:
- Build Armor pen (lots of it ie:
Last Whisper and
Youmuu's Ghostblade
- harass early on
- try to shut them down quick
Vs high damage champs:
- HARASS A **** TONNE
- Try to stay far pre-3
- Max W if your having a hard time
Vs High mobility champs:
- Throw
Bola Strike a lot
- mind game with passive
Vs High CC champs:
- Wait for it to be blown on teammates/creeps
- rarely duel 1v1
- ult before any hard cc hits you -> can't follow through with their combo
Vs Mana Champs:
- Make them waste mana trying to duel you
- go in when low on mana
- go in when they blew an ability on creeps
- harass when possible

Well, heres the end! I hope you learned the basics to
Rengar or got better, and make sure to leave constructive criticism! I may be in Bronze One right now, but I am DAMN CLOSE to silver :P. You can look me up but from the games I played with
Rengar so far, I can be safe to say that I understand him quite well. See you guys!
