Champion Build Guide

Sanun's Diamond Lissandra Guide [TOP&MID]

By sanun
Introduction
Heya and welcome to my guide to Lissandra. I'm Sanun,a top laner who have played League Of Legends since season 1. Lissandra is one of my most played champions, I started playing Lissandra at her release. I'm Diamond on multiple accounts on EUW and pretty known for my Lissandra top and mid. I'm here to share you the secrets about Lissandra top and mid and how to be a hyper-carry with her. This is my 15th guide so feedback is appreciated!
Champion Introduction
Lissandra is a CC burst mage with excellent initiation and laning capabilities. This guide will cover her role in the top lane and mid.

As mentioned, Lissandra has amazing CC abilities. Her Q is a slow, her W a snare, and her Ult is a point-click stun or self-invulnerability. In addition, all those abilities do a reasonably large amount of burst damage. This amount of instant CC and damage paired with her E (which is a large gap closer) makes Lissandra an extremely potent initiator, as she has to ability to instantly lock down a single target and slow all enemies around it while still being able to stay alive.

Her primary weakness is that she is outscaled by many champions in the late game. She will not be able to output the same kind of damage as a lot of other characters. Her spell utility will still make her strong, but once the enemy starts getting items like Mikael's Crucible /Quicksilver Sash , the game will become much harder for you to win.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
+ Strong harras
+ Strong cc
+ Strong escape
+ Strong initiate
+ Strong damage

Cons:
- Melee range with low natural tankiness
- "Unreliable" harras which autopushes the lane
- Early game lvl 1-6 low damage/kill potential
- Needs to get 1-2 items and needs to scale during early
Summoner Spells
Flash is one of the summoner spells that is available in League of Legends. Most of the time, everyone will have Flash as one of the two summoner spells they can equip before getting into a game as it is considered to be an important and must have spell because it grants you the ability to instantly switch your position to wherever your cursor is pointing at within a 425 units range, and this allows players to make creative plays as well as escaping from the brink of death.

Since season 4, there are almost no summoner spells in League of Legends that have a bigger impact than Teleport. Sure, Flash is a big deal and can change a team fight, but Teleport determines everything from which objectives you can take, to whether or not you can fight, to where each individual player can and should be standing on the map.

In fact, until patch 8.23, even just starting a Teleport then cancelling it could be enough to turn a fight, or save your team’s bot lane. But, after this most recent preseason patch, Teleport can no longer be cancelled. And that’s probably a good thing.

Now, when you want to impact the map with a teleport, you have to be absolutely sure it’s a good idea. No more faking teleports to get enemy teams to back off of a fight, or to bait teleport out of your opponent, if you start a teleport in season 9, you’re teleporting.

This is the kind of change that, rather than making one playstyle weaker, actually impacts the entire game itself. At the highest levels of the game, map movements will have to be more purposeful, while things like tower dives can be done with a little more confidence, knowing that the enemy team will have to either decide not to help the target of the dive, or commit everything to help them.

If you have kill-pressure, go for ignite. If not, just pick TP and farm up and be ready for dragon. You can still pull up a good teamfight TP if the opponents overextend a lot and you team has good CC. Ignite also falls off hard as the game goes, so you have to abuse it and snowball and close the game before its 'late'. Champions like Kled (which can use his ult to get into places/fights and have more map pressure AND can also kill ppl with ease). That means you can use your ult kinda like a weaker TP and go with ignite, therefore he's more forgiving with ignite than most top champions.
Abilities
(Passive) Iceborn Subjugation :

INNATE: Whenever an enemy champion dies while Lissandra is near, she spawns a Frozen Thrall from their corpse.

Frozen Thralls chase nearby enemies, prioritizing champions, Slow icon slowing nearby enemies by 25% and shattering after 4 seconds, dealing 120 − 520 (based on level) (+ 30% AP) magic damage. Frozen Thralls initially have X movement speed, which increases to Y over the duration.

(Q) Ice Shard :

ACTIVE: Lissandra hurls a spear of ice in a line which deals magic damage to the first enemy it hits and Slow icon slows them for 1.5 seconds.

If the spear damages an enemy, it then shatters, gaining increased range and dealing the same damage to other enemies hit, but applying no slow.

(W) Ring of Frost :

ACTIVE: Lissandra freezes all nearby enemies, dealing them magic damage and briefly Root icon rooting them.

(E) Glacial Path :

ACTIVE: Lissandra casts a claw of ice that moves forward in a line, decelerating over 1.25 seconds, dealing magic damage to all enemies it passes through.

Reactivating Glacial Path consumes the claw and blinks Lissandra to its current location.

(R) Frozen Tomb :

ENEMY CAST: After a 0.5-second delay, Lissandra freezes the target enemy champion, stunning the target for 1.5 seconds.

SELF CAST: Lissandra instantly entombs herself, placing herself in stasis for 2.5 seconds while healing herself over the duration, with the heal increased by 0% − 100% (based on missing health).

Upon cast, after a 0.5-second delay, Black Ice spreads from Frozen Tomb's target and lasts for 3 seconds, dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area as it expands, and Slow icon slowing them while they remain within.
Items
BEST BUILD

CORE: Protobelt + Sorc. Shoes Rush into Oblivion orb.
Are you against an AD threat? AND YOU ARE LOOSING YOUR LANE SO HARD (let's say u died 2 times pre-level 6) So, only in this case, first buy an Armward, then go for core build. But don't buy Armward if you are winning or going even against an AD champ
Already fed? then go straight DeathCap, then finish Morello.
Now, are u really that fed that nobody can handle your dmg? Then Ludens and finish the game. If not...

SITUATIONAL ITEMS: What to heck do I choose?
So much tanks? so Void Staff or Liandry's (if they stack health go for Lyandri's)
So much AP threat? Banshee's.
You need to survive an assassin? So Zhonya's
Tips for Laning
Use your Q liberally to push the creep wave and poke at the same time.

Your W and E make it extremely hard for you to get ganked, and you are most vulnerable when both abilities are on cooldown.

If you need to clear a wave quickly, you can just cast Q and E, which should take the wave down extremely low when you are past level 8. However, be very careful that you aren’t getting dived or ganked.

Teleport Usage and flanking:

You need wards to be placed properly for you to TP.

You need to wait for the enemy to commit fully for the TP flank to be effective.

Try to keep check on the enemy summoners; you can always get a kill if the person you’re teleporting to has no summoners up.
Tips for Teamfighting
As Lissandra , you always want to be coming in from the side or behind with your E
In a big teamfight, you should always try to hit as many people with your W.

Your ultimate usage can make or break a fight:

If you cast your ult on yourself in a bad spot, you will most likely lose the teamfight, even if you get the damage off on one or two enemy champions.

If you manage to lock down an enemy carry and set your team up to instantly kill him, you will most likely win the teamfight.

There are a lot of caveats to teamfighting and it’s hard to cover every single case

You need to use your own ingenuity to figure out the right thing to do in each situation

For the most part, if you can hit all your abilities and lock up the enemy team while your team is in a good position to follow up, you’ll have done your job correctly.
Advanced Tips
Try to hit enemy with E before taking it.

If someone tries to blast off with a plant, ult.them at the right time to stop them mid air before they go over the wall

Buy frozen heart early into full ad, broken on liss

Poke and kite the **** out of your enemy with autos and qs before 3, especially if hes melee.

R flash instead of flash Ring. If you're on quick cast and you press a point click ability on someone but ure not in range, if you flash and you are in range, its gonna ult them instantly, faster if you were to flash R.

When youre chasing down someone, like an adc, dont use your full combo. Make sure you do a Q W, then auto and move closer, then keep running to them, Q again, then ult, then maybe E then another auto, try to get as many autos and Qs in, a full combo of ult q w e may not be enough and hes gonna flash away with 2 hp and yoh you cant do anything.

Play with the blade queen skin if you wanna feel smooth af

When minions spawn try to push the first like 2 waves really hard. Chances are you're a faster pusher than your enemy so you're probably gonna make him miss some cs. Doesn't sound like much but it tilts the **** outta people. Just stay right out of tower range when the minions come and spam your q and autos.

Wait for enemy to go for cs and try to hit em with Q through the minions.

Some of these are pretty basic but i figured it's better to write them down anyway. I can't think of any other rn and i gotta go, if anything else comes to mind ill make sure to let you know.
