Champion Build Guide
As Kayn you want to make sure you are managing your mana well and try not to poke too much if you only have half of your mana left. Use your mana wisely and try to conserve and let the other top laner run out (if they have mana that is). Never spam abilities outside of a fight and make sure you save your E for running away early on.
After level 6 you have your R, so you can now be a bit more aggressive without worrying too much. Make sure you are still CSing and poking them but you are now free to engage more often.
I don't recommend tower diving after level 6 but you're already playing Tayn so do whatever feels right.
First you might want to try out Rammus
But Second get the bramble vest
If you would rather go rush Sunfire Aegis then just start building away at it.
DO NOT GO BLUE FORM. Even if you get blue first, wait for the red. You are Tayn, not the fast assassiny boi.
Now as a Chunky boi make sure to wipe the cheeks of everyone that crosses your path that you can take on because now you need money, and lots of it. Make sure to keep CSing to gain more health from Overgrowth and take down everyone in sight for that sweet sweet cash bonus.
During fights Kayn's E is much shorter and you get forced out of the wall much quicker, so keep that in mind. After getting too low, if you can avoid inting then E through the walls for a quick escape (Reminder you can flash or Q into the walls after hitting E for a very fast escape if necessary, but don't do this if you don't need to, it takes practice to get it down).
Kayn gains his form by smackin enemies. These can be auto attacks or abilities, as long as your doin the damage, the orbs will spawn. These orbs will auto fly to you eventually no matter how far away or dead you are so don't worry about losing them. Different champions give out different types of orbs, either Red or Blue, and this will dictate which form you get depending on which one you collect more from. Melee champions (Like Garen for example) will drop your Red orbs and Ranged people (Like Caitlyn for example) will drop your Blue orbs. After you collect all of the orbs he needs to MEGA EVOLVE, then orbs will no longer spawn in. Kayn can transform in the Shadow Assassin (Blue Kayn) or RHAAST (Red Kayn) at the fountain (your team's spawn). If you end up getting the wrong form don't worry because you can wait a bit of time to transform into the other one (the time indicator will be over the form you didn't get). Killing people after getting the wrong form speeds up the time for the correct form to be unlocked as well.
Kayn's Q is the AOE slash he does with the scythe. This does damage 2 times in the animation (first for the leap and second for the actual spin) so make sure you remember and abuse that fact. You can also use Kayn's Q to jump over short walls for either a quick escape or a sneaky engage. Kayn's Q is also great for dodging skill shots so if you wish to use it that way it is very helpful. As Red Kayn this also does % health damage so you don't need to be afraid of it falling off.
Kayn's W changes with the form he is given. Since this is a guide for Red Kayn he is the one I will be going over. Red Kayn's W will make people airborne for a couple of seconds giving you time to catch up or run away. This can act like a free stun and will push people out of channeling ults like Warwick's leap or Miss Fortune's CONE OF DEATH.
Kayn's E is his ability to run through walls. Not only does this make the map quicker to travel, easier to engage, and an excellent escape tool, but it also heals you. Normally this ability will last for 3 seconds but if in combat it will last for 1.5 seconds instead. If you deal damage or are hit while in the wall you will be forced out entirely. You can Q inside of walls to dodge and if you don't hit anything with the Q you will remain in the wall.
Lastly is Kayn's Ult, Umbral Trespass. After hitting an enemy they will be marked. If you hover your cursor over them and press R then you will warp inside of them. After you are inside of them you can press R again to leap out of them dealing damage to them in the process. You can sit inside of them for up to 2.5 seconds. As RHAAST this will deal % health damage and will heal you for a percentage of the target's health that you cast it on. You can angle this so make sure before you recast it to consider where you want to pop out. Also your ability cooldowns are still active while you're inside a target, so if you need to stall for time to wait for your abilities to come back then wait to recast the R to jump out.
RHAAST's passive is that he heal 30%-40% of the damage he deals to enemies with his abilities (Q,W,and R).
If you want to learn more on how to become a good Kayn look up Karasmai on YouTube or Twitch. Hes the #1 Kayn player in the world and has lots of tutorial videos on how to play Kayn better (of course they are all for Jungle Kayn but if you get interested in this champ then I would check him out).
