Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaah, waaaay too many builds :o I just quickly scrolled through and oh my gosh, what IS this guide?! The amount of effort and dedication is mindboggling. Where did you find the time???
Okay, while I appreciate how massive this guide is, have you considered splitting the guide up into the different playstyles? I suggest this because this guide is simply massive AND doesn't really reach your target audience. If I'm looking for a support Yi guide, I wouldn't think to click on this one because the "core"/displayed build will always be the meta Yi. I think you could really connect with your readers better if the guide was split so they can comment directly on what they want clarity on. Yes, it'd mean updating several guides, but then you get to keep a guide separate for the specific playstyle and not make people wade through playstyles they don't want to read. That's just my opinion though.
In the cheat sheet you don't explain the threats/synergies.
I like your writing style, it's crisp and without errors. Makes you sound credible.
I like how you've styled the runes section :) Wait - it's the "Build" section. I got incredibly confused there. Because it's the rune choices, followed by the item choices and how they synergise. I don't mind how you've done that, but then following it with the next playstyle was very confusing to me as I was suddenly given a completely different set of runes and items.
I would very honestly enjoy reading a full guide on each playstyle, as opposed to the short snippets.
I think the Competition chapter is a little messy. Probably because you've actually got a lot of valuable/useful information you're trying to cram into a small space. Maybe try 2 to a row instead of 3, or get rid of the columns and try a different formatting technique.
While the rune section is pretty cool, I don't think it's necessary to go over rune choices you don't take. If you remove the runes that are not viable, I think you make the guide more accessible to readers.
I'm also a little confused as to the order of the chapters in this guide. They seem to be all over the place.
Change log is confusing and very expansive, taking up a lot of room. A little unnecessary.
Thanks for the shoutout :)
Overall, a massive effort, well done. I think I'd like to see more information about Yi gameplay - a lot of it is hidden in spoilers and in weird places that really require the reader to dig deep to find it. If I'm getting in game and need to know what to do for the first jungle clear - where do I find that information in your guide (hint, I'd need to scroll through tonnes of irrelevant info to get to it)? If I get counter-jungled (like my blue or red is stolen), what should I do? I think that information would be useful for your readers.
I'm a little sad I didn't get to see a "Yi Support" gameplay section!
Cheers, jhoi
The length was my major concern and I didn't think of seperating the guides because i just started writing and adding as it felt right and like you said, it made me cram everything in so it would seem short.
Regarding the "runes" and "items" chapters, I wanted to provide information related to yi so others could try different runes and items and inspire some new builds, but especially the runes chapter felt like It had a lot of irrelevant information which wasn't even needed.
I added a short discussion on each of the builds because I had such long discussions about each of them in the "runes" and "items" chapters. Do you think I should just remove the "runes" chapter for now?
I think I should not have put the "#1" etc.. next to the titles in the table of contents, I guess it is a little confusing, I can fix that. I think whatever information was not so important but interesting I tried to put it into the spoilers. I did the "competition" chapter before the changes to the guide editing, do you think I should move all of that information from the "competition" chapter into the threats and synergies? (to make it less crammed and cleaner)
Thanks for the tips on adding info on what to do when you are behind or ahead in the "jungling" chapter, I will add more to it. Also regarding splitting it into multiple guides, didn't realise this one would be this long haha, so I would I just have a different guide for each playstyle and more but with the same format, and what about the chapters such as "runes" and "items"? should I just shorten it to that specific rune paths, like if the build uses just precision and sorcery then I have just those two runes in the "runes" chapter of that guide, and the same for the "items" chapter?
It wouldn't be difficult to split them, but I would like to keep this one as well. Thanks for giving those great tips, I've been a Yi fan since I joined so yea I put a lot of work in (probably more than I should have), that's why I wanted to make sure that everything's perfect on this one, then I can use it as a template of my own for other guides for later.
(p.s: And for the "Yi support" its basically the tank build with relic shield, which was very handy when relic shield used to give an actual shield, as a start haha thats why I combined them into one).
quick edit: Are the colour schemes, fonts, styles, layouts (besides the "competition" chapter which you mentioned already) fine? besides being long and perhaps confusing, is it visually pleasing-ish and easy to read so I can focus on those when I split them?
1. Really narrow/crystalise it down to optimised paths for each rune set. In your cheat sheet you have 6 builds. Make your guide about only 5 of them. And definitely make sure that each path is completely optimised (no wishy-washy choices, you MUST get x rune and y item if you're running Transcended Yi etc). So no "vs AD team", just have the actual set item choices you run with that path 90% of the time. So for each build, only show Spawn, First Recall and Final Build. Or even just the final build (you'll explain alternative choices in the guide itself).
2. Remove the threats/synergies from the cheat sheet as it takes up too much space and you go into a lot of detail in the guide itself. OR, remove the information from the guide and put it in the cheatsheet - whichever way makes more sense to you. It might be neater/easier to update if in the cheetsheet.
3. Remove your opening custom table of contents (takes up space) and isn't necessary anymore with the MobaFire in-built one to the side. The rune/item menus are fine and cool.
4. Consolidate/format images and gifs to go side-by-side text so there isn't a lot of blank space in your guide.
5. Organise your guide like this:
A - Intro
B - Yi's Abilities (with "unique skills" placed in the relevant areas of this chapter and "skill order" at the end of the chapter)
C - Summoner Spells
D - Runes (as shown in your last chapter, but ONLY the runes from each path that are chosen/useful and DON'T spoiler the explanation of "equip to Yi", only the "details")
E - Items
F - Builds (remove redundant/duplicate info already explained elsewhere in the guide, maybe just have a summary of why the path is a good idea and when to pick the pathway over the other ones)
G - Gameplay (Creeping/Jungling)
H - Outro (spoiler the change log at the end of this chapter)
I hope this helps, and if something is unclear, please let me know. I really do think that the above changes will make the guide more readable and useful for your audience.
I did enjoy how you double-stroked around icons, that looks really neat. And how you used the line dividers in such a unique way, looks awesome. I don't know if I like the table outline around the individual items, as it looks blocky that way, I think if it was a single line above and below would look cleaner. But yeah, your guide definitely stands out with unique ideas!
Cheers, jhoi
I will make the changes you adviced, slowly though, and I hope it's okay if I give you a shout if I want to clarify things. A lot the information on jungling is missing from what is meant to be a jungle guide so yea. Like the ones you mentioned about when to recall and when to roam/gank etc... I'll try add a map image with markings etc to help with those.
I'll look into the rest and thanks again for the help.

EDIT: I've added a vs Tank-Heavy alternative that replaces Titanic Hydra with a much earlier (3rd item) Guinsoo's Rageblade. Should do better against teams with 2-3 tanks or more while still being brusier-yi in late game.
I tried this out on the practice tool and no matter how much bonus attack speed you get it still only ends up being just one auto attack. If you perhaps replace that item with let's say trinity force, you would get more out of it on every Q or E than just one Q and auto.
I'll try the new one you added. One great thing about the first one was that 1 v 1 dueling against a 10/1 Wukong in mid lane was easy kill, same against garen, but not enough to tear apart 2 or 3 champs at a time.
Also, the build is a Jungle build, not a top lane/mid lane one. You just never upgrade the jungle item beyond lvl 1.
tl;dr: Stormrazor's burst is vastly superior, gold efficiency vastly superior and scales into late game. Trinity force will only start to be "as good as" stormrazor if you can proc it at least 4-5 times, but even then, assassinating an ADC is way better than slowly chipping away at its HP.
Also, you can proc stormrazor multiple times in a team fight. If you used your ult + basic + Q 4 enemies (longer animation), stormrazor will proc again. As well as if you go in, then meditate, you'll have the 90% Total AD stormrazor+doublestrike combo.
All in all, the only reason to pick Trinity over Stormrazor, is if they have 4-5 tanks in the game and you can't assassinate anyone.
Master Yi is never out of meta he is just not too strong sometimes.
Hehe :D
