Introduction

Alright everyone I have seen a lot of Varus builds in the past week, but over all I think my hybrid build tops them all! First off let's talk about what music to listen to while playing Varus. Here is my top song to listen to him with: Ionian hatred. My next song would be along this style of music: Solo soldier

Ok guys now to start my first guide ever on this website! Note: Go easy on me.

Runes

Being a hybrid and all you want to keep your runes at an equal pace. I choose my Quintessences with 3 Greater Quintessences of Strength next I get 9 Greater Marks of strength, both my Quintessences and Marks provide me with a huge burst of AD at early game and will get you atleast 2 kills from level 1 - 6. After my AD runes I move onto Physical armor runes so I take 9 Greater Seals of Resilence. These provide me to counter early game and give me a huge amount of sustain. Lastly I get 9 Greater Glyphs of Warding. These provide me with magic resistence and again help me sustain but through ability's and make me a much tougher target to kill early game.

Masteries

For my masteries much like my Runes I focused on an even build for them. I went 13 in Offence, this provides me with a small bit of attack speed and penetration which is very useful middle game. For Defense I put 6 points just to assure that Varus isn't THE squishiest on the battle field. Lastly with Utility I used 11 points, this provides me with movement speed and a nice buff for my summoner spells.

Items

Alright now the core of the guide. My reason for a hybrid is because half of his abilities are AP and the other is obviously AD, not only for this reason but for the reason that he seems to be extremely squishy and this build kicks squishy in the *** and kills it.

When you spawn you have to start with Boots and 3 HP pots this helps you stay in the game

For your first recall you should have Your Bersekers Greaves, this will help you both in movement speed and in Attack speed.

Your second recall you want to focus on a Phantom Dancer so start on that strate away.

Your third recall you want to purchase your Phantom dancer and get a Vampiric scepter, this will eventually turn into a Blood Thirster.

For your fourth recall you should have your Berserkers Greaves, Phantom Dancer, and a Vampiric Scepter. So if you have those it's time to move onto a Frozen mallet so I would start with the Phage since it can slow and gives you some HP.

On your fifth recall you should either be buying the Giants belt or the Frozen mallet it's self.

Your sixth recall(gosh there is a lot of recalls eh?) You want to start the foundations of a Rylais Crystal Scepter, now I know what your thinking "What is this guy, crazy? He wants me to get a Frozen Mallet AND a Rylais Crystal Scepter?!" Well yes I know Varus has his E to slow people down but it's a short slow and also I know your going to be using Auto attacks with your Frozen mallet so why should you need another slow? Well when someone like Singed comes walking by and you begin to auto attack him he's going to try to get away and sure he's going to be slowed but he's going to out run you as well so what do you do? Use Piercing Arrow and slow him down to secure the kill. So yes, Rylais Crystal Scepter is a good choice with Varus.

On your seventh recall you should have bought Rylais Crystal Scepter and now you need to focus on your last AP item, Rabadons Deathcap, I know it's expensive but suck it up butter cup and get that gold!

For your eighth recall you should get Rabadons Deathcap, but wait is that all of your build? NO OF COURSE NOT FOOL! Did you forget oh I don't know Blood Thirster? Well that's your next item if you remeber me saying we will get back to it.

Now on your final recall you should get your Blood Thirster and go kill some minions for those sweet sweet stacks of AD and LS!

Now, what's the point of all of this? Well my point for this build is to not be an OP jerk who jsut uses like 3 Phantom dancers, Blood Thirster, and 2 Infinity Edges. No that takes no skill at all and although it melts people I just find it stupid and brainless. So to get back to my point my Hybrid build makes Varus not only not squishy but makes me pretty damn OP too. I have a friend on LoL who just could not figure out a good build so I give him some tips and my build and next thing you kow he has a score of 15/2/9 with Varus. So no, I'm not lieing this build is the real deal and will get you places!

How to combo

Alright now a in most champions there is a combo my combo with Varus goes like this: First I would try to get at least 1 stack of my passive on the champion then charge my Piercing arrow half way to get some damage but not waste my time completely charging it. Next you want to do Hail of Arrows right behind your target so you can trap them in your slow if they decide to run. The next thing you want to do is auto attack until they have 3 stacks of your passive on them if they are dumb they will stay and fight in which you can either keep auto attacking or use your Piercing arrow to end there misery. Although if they are smart they will run after you cast Hail of Arrows and at that time you should use your Ultimate skill, Chain of Corruption to root them in place the next option if they are still alive is to use Piercing arrow one last time. This should all take around 11 seconds and they will probably only live until 6 seconds(when you cast get your 3 stacks on your enemy).

Summoner Spells!

Some people use use Exhaust and Ghost which are exellent but for Varus I choose Clarity and Flash and let me tell you why. I use Clarity because I don't want to waste my time making either a Manamune or a Archangels Staff and quite francly they don't give much AP/AD. So I choose Clarity because I noticed with Varus he's got a major problem blowing Mana off even late game he blows it off fast, hence the reason for Clarity. The second summoner spell I would recommened would be Flash this helps me jump though walls and cut myself out of battle another substitute would be Ghost it helps you to chase and get away from enemies but can also be countered easily with Exhaust or just a slow like Olafs Undertow.
