What is Shen?
Shen's role on the Rift is as an engage tank for his team, utilizing his percent health damage abilities to keep him competitive in lane as he builds tanky. He also has an Ultimate Ability that allows him to grant a shield to an ally from anywhere on the map and then teleport to that ally, SO USE IT.

Shen is an AP, Engage Tank with a mobile CC that causes champions to attack him, for what purpose would you ever play him as an attack speed champion with Kraken Slayer? Better yet, if you're going to use Hail of Blades like some type of rune hipster, build an Eclipse or something, YOU ALREADY GET 50% ATTACK SPEED FROM BOTH HoB AND YOUR Q.
Also, don't buy 2 ruby crystals, sell them, buy a noonquiver into Kraken Slayer, buy a giants belt and Tiamat, THEN PROCEDE TO BUY A BRAMBLE VEST, only to then finish your Titanic Hydra.
