Suggestions are welcome!
Your main trade should be to lantern yourelf, then auto, and flay. This should proc grasp and shield bash.
In order to succed on lane Thresh, especialy in top lane, you have to freeze the wave. To do this, let the opponent push (ie. you only last hit), then use your lantern to tank the minion wave and hold it in front of your tower. Be careful while doing this, as it is a great oppourtunity for them to trade and all in. Once you freeze, match their pushing to keep the wave there.
Freezes like this make it safer for you to lane, as you can cc them under tower if they all in you, protect you from ganks, and let your ganks be more effective.
Try to save your tp to get the full first back.
If you see your jungler dying in the river, go save them with lantern if you can do it safely.
Once you get mobis start looking for roam opportunities unless forced under tower. In this case cs, you are playing a slow "Carry" that needs to cs to win. Be patient.
Steal enemies jungle if you can.
Both of the above will also grant you more souls, which you want to continue scaling.
When you see a teamfight beginning, either look to get an engage hook, or to auto a carry. Your auto does a large amount of damage, so use it to threaten.
Pop your shield to save members, or on your self for a little extra shield bash damage.
Your tp should be used to take objectives, or get in position for a teamfight. At other times rely on the fast move speed of mobis.
In team fights focus the carries first while peeling for your own carries. The best position for you is behind the main tank (unless you are the main tank) while in front of your adc.

You end up with loads of attack speed and on-hit damage, almost like a 2nd adc. Make sure your team knows and plays around this.
