Intro

Hello my name is Dobby Knows and i'm a yasuo main with TONS of experience. Yasuo is a great champion, but in the right hands. when I watch other yasuo's play it makes me cringe and dont get me started on the builds that some take. I want to make this guide so I dont ask for a trade when I see a first pick yasuo in my solo q games :) Anyways, this guide wont help your mechanics (practice does) but you should be able to pick up a couple tips and tricks here :)

Pros and Cons

Pros: Strong late game
Good split pusher
Strong dueling
Amazing team fights (If some knock-ups are provided - not needed tho)
Good damage with Shiv + IE

Cons: Weak early game (Depending on match up)
Extremely high skill cap
Team comp reliant

Runes

Yasuo's runes are very optional, according to your playstyle. Ive always ran attack speed in my page so im too used to it to switch over to full ad runes. I also have a yasuo vs ad page where you just have to switch out the hp seals for armour.

Summoners

I take flash and exhaust most of the time but sometimes I will take cleanse and sometimes ignite :) Let me explain. Flash is a obvious choice and it can be used both offensively and defensively depending on the situation. (For example, flash e q for knockup into ult). Teleport ia also a valid choice in lanes when your opponent picks a champion such as TF, as you can follow him with TP.

Exhaust: I take exhaust when im versing assassin mid laners (Zed, Leblanc, Ahri, ect), when I want to dual in lane (1v1) and for escaping ganks easier. (For example exhausting Vi when being ganked will lower her damage and speed to catch up to you)

Boots

Why not beserker greaves? Let me explain, once you finish shiv and tri force, you will already have max cdr on your q (1.33) AND extra with my rune set up. (See above)

Items, can make or break a game for Yasuo. Lets start with boots. Boots are optional on Yasuo. You can take Ninjs Tabi's or Merc Treads. If you're versing Zed or Talon in lane always run ninjas. Other times to ninjas are when the enemy adc (Thats not ezreal or urgot) are fed. This is because the boots have a passive which block 15% of the damage from auto attacks.

Merc Treads: I take merc treads when i'm versing a ap mid or when the enemy team has crowd control (CC). This is because they have a passive that gives you tenacity which lowers the amount of cc you take. Hard to explain but think like this, when you get charmed by ahri it will lower the effect of the charm by a good amount, alot of the time the tenacity will win you a fight that is tight because of those precious half a second that you get.

Zerkers are okay.

Max Order

The max order for Yasuo goes as follows: R>E>Q>W. Start E or Q. The reason you would want to start E is for the level 1 cheese. You want to stack it up by E’ing 2 minions. (You will see the charges on your hud) After that if the enemy laner is close to you, you just have to auto E auto and then E through a minion to escape. *MAKE SURE YOUR PASSIVE IS UP* What im talking about when i say auto e is that you want to auto then right after the auto hits e right away to cancel the animation and then proceed to auto and escape.
