Story

The work of gravediggers is essential amongst the living, but invaluable in the Shadow Isles. There are many shades of death there, and each is embraced rather than feared or reviled. One can only ascend from one state to the next with the magical aid of a skilled professional. At the end of the first Rune War, Yorick Mori made his living as a gravedigger. His family owned and maintained the Final Rest Memorial, one of the oldest cemeteries in Valoran. The shovel he employed for his work had been passed down for generations. Each gravedigger taught his son that this shovel was imbued with the spirit of every forefather, and that those spirits would protect him during the long lonely nights amongst the tombstones. To his eternal regret, Yorick died without an heir, bringing the proud Mori line to a close. His body was interred with his shovel in the family mausoleum, and the Final Rest Memorial soon fell to ruin. Death, however, was not the end Yorick had expected.
Yorick emerged on the haunted shores of the Shadow Isles – not quite dead, definitely not alive – still clutching his beloved shovel. He soon learned that with it he could act as a ferryman for the Isles' undead denizens, helping them climb death's many-tiered ladder. This proved a curse, as a gravedigger must "bury his quota" before he too can ascend, or so the legend goes. No one knows what "his quota" is. Yorick dug tirelessly, waiting in vain for the day when he would be freed of his burden. As decades turned to centuries, the shame of his failures came to a head. He returned to Valoran to find his corpse, convinced that salvation might be buried with it. When he arrived, no trace remained of either the mausoleum or the memorial. Hope nearly lost, he discovered the League of Legends, and there saw an opportunity to immortalize the family name he allowed to be forgotten ages ago.

Introduction

Hello there, Summoner, and thanks for taking your time reading my Guide for Yorick - The Gravedigger.

As everyone probably heard when Yorick was released, he wasnt very good. But this information is incorrect. Yorick is a very strong meele champion.

I play him as a off tank this make me being hard to kill but I do make alot of damage to my enemys.

Pay respect to that this is my very first guide, any feedback, help or comments are appriciated.
Now, lets start.

Team Work

Yorick, as I play him, is a very good team player. You want to use your ghosts at any time, the reason for this, every new ghost you summon give you 5% extra damage. So in a team fight summon your ghosts. The ultimate you've got should be used on the team-mate with lowest hp or with highest damage.

When a member in your team is followed by an enemy player, harass the enemy while you run with your friendly player. So that the enemy will either die or turn around and run since he prolly dont want to die.

Runes

Here am I going to explain you the choice of runes

The Runes I use:
Marks: Nine red attack damage runes.
Glyph: Here I use four armor runes and five attack speed runes.
Seals: Here I use nine hp5/level runes.
Quintessences: For purple I use three 0,25 attack damage/level runes.

To explain my choice of runes. The reason I pick attack damage runes is to not being such a bad dps. Since I mostly buy tank items.
The reason to use four armor runes is because in early game he need to be careful since he doesnt really allow taking alot of damage. Instead of using five attack speed runes you can use nine armor runes. But I do use attack speed since I find him hiting very slow.
Now the hp5 runes is for my tanking to not drop to much in hp so I can stay at lane for a longer time.

Skills

This is what makes Yorick Unique, every ability will summon a pet of some sort! Each of them will aide Yorick in his time of need!

Unholy Covenant (Passive): Yorick's basic attacks deal 5% more damage for each summon that is active. Meanwhile, Yorick's Ghouls have 30% of Yorick's Attacks Damange and Health.

Yorick's passive is pretty significant; although, in large team fights it noticeably becomes irrelevant. Yorick shines in 1v1, or 2v2 situations where he can keep his minions alive, and insure they aren't taking massive AOE damage from team fights.

Omen of War (Q): Yorick's next attack will deal 30/?/?/?/? (+?) physical damage and summons a Spectral Ghoul for up to 5 seconds. The Spectral Ghoul deals 8 additional damage per hit and moves 15% faster. While the ghoul is active, Yorick moves 15% faster as well.

Omen of War is your bread and butter attack. This attack deals massive damage, meanwhile giving Yorick a speed boost to chase down his enemies. Simply because of this skill, sheen/trinity force is viable.

Omen of Pestilence (W): Yorick summins a Decaying Ghoul that arrives with a violent explosion dealing 60/?/?/?/?(+?) magic damage and slowing nearby enemies by 20% for 1.5 seconds. While the decaying ghoul remains alive, nearby enemies continue to be slowed by 10% for up to 5 seconds.

Omen of Pestilence can be used for several things. Firstly it is a great harassing tool in combination with your healing ghoul. Additionally this ghoul can be used to slow down your enemies to chase them.

Omen of Famine (E): Yorick deals 55/?/?/?/? (+?) magic damage and heals for up to 50% of the damage dealt. A Ravenous Ghoul is summoned behind his target, which heals Yorick for the damage it deals and lasts for up to 5 seconds.

Omen of Famine is what really keeps you alive in team fights, and does noticeable damage. This ghoul is also extremely useful for harassing.

Omen of Death (R): Yorick conjures a revenant is the image of a target allied champion. Revenants deal 50%/75%/?% of the target ally's Attack Damage. If his ally dies while the revenant is alive, the revenant sacrifices itself to reanimate them.

Revenants and reanimated allies lose 10% of theur maximum Health per second.

Yorick's ultimate becomes a great tool for team fights. This attack basically turns a 3v3 or 5v5 into a 4v3 or 6v5. Most people are failing to see the utility it brings to team fights; however, it is extremely useful. Simply cast it on yourself, or another AD heavy team mate.

How to make Yorick work

This is the way I play Yorick.

Level 1-5:

I start with using Omen of War. You shouldn't attack them unless you see a chance to hurt the enemy more then they hurt you.
Secondly I go for Omen of Famine and then for Omen of Pestilance to try harass them with Omen of Pestilance(W) that slows them. Then use Omen of Famine(E) to damage them after that use Omen of War(Q).

Level 6-18:

The diffrence betwen level six and level 5 is that now we got our ulti, so we have to be smart about it. The way we do this is engaging an enemy, by using Omen of Pestilance(W) to slow them down, now when they are slowed down I wait untill it ends and then use exhaust on the enemy and press Omen of War(Q) to nuke this enemy hard. Use Omen of Farmine(E) to get hp and nuke the enemy down abit more. When this is done the enemys hp should be half or even less, use your ultimateOmen of Death(R) repeat this and drop Ignite on the enemy and they are dead for sure. Sometimes they die way before you have to do all this.

Farming

The last thing I am going to guide you about is farming.

I would say that the best thing would be, as Yorick, to stay at your lane till level 7-9, it depends on how many items you had time to get.
Anyhow, I would recommend to start farming for the Blue/Red buff when you have your Manamune and your Ninja Tabi boots. Those items and spells should be enough to start the farming.
When you've got the Red/Blue buff slay the rest of all minions alive in the jungle.
When you have done this go back to your lane. Do not go back to the jungle untill you have to go home or your enemy laners are away for some reason.
