Best way to Counter Shyvana

I know that leaves you without a tanky top laner which is the new meta, but if their tank isn't effective then it should be less of a worry. Similar to Cait, [[Vayne]] can use her range to poke [[Shyvana]] in laning phase. With her tumble and E, she can keep some distance if [[Shyvana]] tries to close the gap. Also, [[Silver Bolts]] is like a free BOTRK which helps once Shyv gets tanky. In a slightly different note, [[Karthus]] is weak earlier, but I'm thinking that he would outscale [[Shyvana]] and would start dealing more damage since he can help wipe out the entire enemy team with his ult. Ignore fighting [[Shyvana]] and just farm it out. A couple other ideas I had were [[Quinn]] and [[Ezreal]], but they are just similar to [[Caitlyn]]/[[Vayne]]. I also play [[Shyvana]], so this is also to help me avoid potential counter situations. What do you guys think? Part of me says any ranged champ should have some success especially after her early game got nerfed, but there are bound to be some that work better than others. I know a [[Vladimir]] gave me troubles in laning phase with his poke and sustain, but I was able to do more in team fights than he could. Any suggestions or comments?[/quote]

Pick a mobile champ and use the CD between her spells to wear her down. If you stay out of her AoE and dodge her ranged ability, you can easily bring her down. [/quote] I was thinking that taking mana against a manaless champ wouldn't be a good idea, but I've been trying to force myself to only use mana if I can't get CS otherwise, or if it's to out-trade in lane. Still, just trying to think of some other options other than just pick Mundo or Renekton(especially when Mundo get's banned so often in my ELO).[/quote]

[/quote] Or, you know, she takes away half your health at level 2 or 3, doesn't care about your slow because she has a huge speed boost, and is tanky enough to survive ult? 9/21 [[Shyvana]] + [[Doran's Shield]] is gonna shrug off [[Razor Shuriken]]. You can't farm every single CS with [[Razor Shuriken]] and [[Shadow Slash]], at least not early game. You have to go up to creeps to auto attack. Then [[Shyvana]] gets to attack you; it doesn't matter if she gets only one or two autos off on you after hitting [[Flame Breath]], she's still doing around 100 - 250 damage. Also, your playstyle there is completely passive. What are you gonna do if you wanna go on the offense? You either don't deal enough damage to bother her, or you use your [[Living Shadow]] and/or [[Death Mark]] and she still outdamages you. I don't mean to be harsh, but I honestly cannot see how you would ever win that matchup as [[Zed]]. The whole point of [[Shyvana]] is that she wrecks squishies, and out-trades and out-damages tanks. As to who would be good against [[Shyvana]], a couple of champions come to mind. [[Aatrox]], although super squishy, can try to lifesteal up after each trade. I don't honestly know how that one would work. [[Kayle]], because she does ridiculous amounts of damage, mixed damage at that, has a strong slow, and has ranged harass. Plus, [[Intervention]] is insane. [[Yasuo]] does pretty well, really well once he gets [[Statikk Shiv]]. He has super strong poke with [[Steel Tempest]], he can block [[Flame Breath]] with [[Wind Wall]], and he has a lot of mobility. He can pretty much kite around [[Shyvana]] if she tries to go in, but he wins more because he can poke her constantly before fights. Or ban [[Shyvana]] because she's stupidly strong right now. That's a direct counter.[/quote]
