I had an idea for a set-up consisting of a normal "meta-game" top and a normal "meta-game" bottom, but, instead of a jungler, the extra player goes support and goes into mid with the APC. I think it could work. I'm just wondering what the community thinks about this strategy.

Will only work if enemy team is made of pandas that don't know kung fu.

Depends on your team composition, i think. If your 2v1 lane can harass and push well, you'll probably be set for a little while, because towers give so much of an advantage. If your support/AP just afk farm or try to force the opposing mid out of lane without making significant progress on tower, you'll be set back a ton.
It is important to note that if the opposing mid character is a roamer like katarina and TF, or someone with poor wave clear (Kass for instance) this lane will, in a way, alleviate pressure from other lanes

It seems risky to me, but i think i can see it working a little. Especially with a high CC support, and an AP whose autoattacks significantly contribute to their damage output. One instance could be Thresh & Diana. Two shields to alleviate all if not most of the pressure the opposing mid. The AoE can clear waves fast and get to pushing.

I think its an okay idea, but you need the right composition for it.

Thank you guys. That helped me a bunch. I may try to get a 5 man team together and try it out. I will update you guys on how it works when i get together with a few people. Once again thank. And to Luizdeh, I'll tell you if we go against them XD. Also skid, we would be running a 1/2/2 set-up not a 1/2/1 with a jungle. And I can see where you're coming from with the loss of exp/gold.

LOL k take photos I like pandas

Now seriously dude, to make this strat work, you REALLY need to push. HARD. Like, get 2v1 tower as quick as possible, then collapse on closest lane and push for tower and then do it again on the other lane. From then on though, there is a high risk of getting caught out, so once again group as 3-4 and push a lane as far as possible.

As first towers drop, get dragon and jungle buffs from own jungle. You may be vulnerable to splitpushing though, but with enough pressure that won't matter much.

IMO you just can't afford to go to late game with a double support comp due to lack of damage, even if you have tons of CC. Enemy should also have CC and they will 2 clear targets to go after, so, if they're not pandas, they should have the advantage, even if AD/APC are behind yours.

Honestly, seems like a do or die strategy and you need to be able to adapt in-game to what's going on. How do you retaliate when enemy jungler is fed like a mofo from ganking the solo laner (without anyone else bothering him mostly) and from having all that jungle to himself? Say he camps mid and top and snowballs solo lane like crazy, forcing you to defend that lane, effectively punishing whatever pressure you were trying to put on them.

In fact, as I see it, having a jungler in the enemy team is a counter to this strategy.

All these things were thought of through the development of current meta, and that's why I made a snarky remark, because it seems like an outdated strategy that should falter against 'normal' team compositions.

But anyways, good luck. Post a vid if you can make it work, should be fun to watch.

Hey, if you want a push comp, try Heimerdinger mid and Sivir + Soraka bottom. For your top and partner in mid, Dr. Mundo, Shen, Sona, Katarina, Talon are all options for AoE clear

Atm junglers are already support-ish but still getting farm, and in competitive play they can still camp lanes like its 2v1 or 2v2 so basically your idea won't really work.

My question is that, if there are two mid, then wouldn't the enemy team HAVE to adapt to the two mid by maybe always having jungler? And all of these comments are helping me with my idea. I don't have a good video capture so i may not have a video, but i will try this at some point and post pictures of the after game reports. Also, if anyone has any modifications to the champion types you may change up my idea a bit. Maybe change to double bruiser with one top and one mid helping caster? I don't know atm but i will keep this updated. And thank you luizdeh for the ideas and the strategies. Also thank you DKitten for the Champion suggestions. Although I wish i didn't have this idea because it eliminates jungling (which i have been doing a lot of and actually have been doing pretty well)

The Jungler gives way 2 much control.
Especially his global ganking presence and the smite make him something you do not want to miss.
Also Mid is the lane that will hit 6 really fast and has the shortest distance to all other lanes.
