Why would it be ******** that elo hell only exists from 1100-1400, after that matchmaking should be able to put u aswell as your opponents in an appropriate spot. With feeders(in theory) only happening when somebody created a smurf and is climbing the ladder.
1100-1400 is where u're going to be after 5'ish games. And after that point. Elo hell with bad matchmaking just isn't a factor anymore.
Lugi, u can ofcourse carry as Maokai, but that's just like u can carry with Sona.. To some extent u can, but u're gonna need a team that understands(at least to a minor extent) something. Thus in low-elo(where pubstomping is needed/recommended) u want DAMAGE!

I become less and less sure of such a place existing because I've been to REALLY low Elos when on a mates account at 900, there I was playing with someone who was only 800 rating.
Yet people say they are stuck in Elo Hell at 1500 Elo.
Seems people just try to find an excuse for their rage and losses because I've carried games in a variation of ratings.
In the end if you are good enough you'll get yourself out.
Although Riot maybe need to increase the amount of Elo you get a win and just let the amount of attainable Elo increase so that its easier to broaden the skill range, because currently winning 2 then losing one only puts you up a few elo.
Generally anything but support is a good way to help carry your team
But if you really get stuck the Solo Queue teir list that someone has made her is quite accurate

Players are bad everywhere.
If you ahve a 1600 player who gets queued against 1700's he's most likely going to play bad.
And ofc, players play bad everywhere naturally from time to time.
It doesn't really matter if you are 1000 elo or 1600, it's just that winning games gets harder and harder.

It just doesn't make any sense to me...
I assume that the matchmaking makes it as close as possible, thus not queeing a 1600 elo'er with a 1700'er. When that u're over the limits of 1400 because after that it's jut not as random anymore.

Even if that is true, as i assume it is.
The overall elo is still gonna be the same thus still making it a equal matchup. If u're 1700 u're gonna be last pick(prolly gonna be supporting) so u rely on ur first picks 1900's to carry u. While the other team prolly will have a 1700 again on the last pick. So team should be equal.

Maokai is a good example: He has 0 damage by himself, and needs his team to be good lategame.
