Personally I just bought GP after using Rumble as my main top laner and counter pick, Rumble will destroy a Gp and is probably one of his best counters, but its basically impossible to stop the GP farming completely, you can push to the tower but you'll just get ganked, Parley means he will last hit. GP also has a far superior late game to Rumble.
I want to come with a second remark..
I still hold on to that i think rumble is better. BUT if u want to split push a lot, GP is such a great split-pusher(i prefer having a jungler split push though.) But gp is probably the best top-laner in the game for split-pushing.
(Gp is not utter useless if he doesn't win his lane, he's just picked to win his lane, and i don't think he's that good at it if opponent has a proper armour page, he has a worse mid-lategame than a lot other good ad-toplaners)
