I thought this was a discussion about why people think support is hard to carry with, not whether or not it's possible to carry as support. I can tell you first-hand that playing support well = free elo, doesn't matter how "incompetent" your teammates are because your enemies are just as likely to screw up. You can create opportunities and sway teamfights by controlling map vision, what more do you want?

In soloQ if you get a bad ADC, the team will most likely blame you and not the ADC, no SoloQ love for supports I think that's why people think it's the hardest role.
