I just read a guide where the word "passes" gets censored at "es".

We have a profanity filter for guests because a number of services required to keep the site running will not support us without one. I'm not a fan of forced profanity filters but unfortunately it is a necessity.
It is disabled everywhere for members, though, except for guides. You can curse anywhere you want on the site and other members will see it unfiltered, except in your actual guide text. The reason for this is that if we try to keep profanities unfiltered in guides for members, we cannot share page caching for members with guests, and the result is that guides load incredibly slowly for members. As in 10-15 second load times, instead of the 0.5-2 second load times with caching. I have gone into more detail on this issue elsewhere in this forum if you look around, that's the short version.
Do you really need to curse in your guide text? I get it in PMs, and sometimes in comments, but I see no need for it in guides.
Anyways this thread is getting old. If you really have a problem with the profanity filter start a new one. Locking.

Also in the word "Japanese" the "Jap" part gets censored.
Reviewing guides helps in noticing this ;D
