Well,
Smite puts your team down one summoner spell in teamfights. However, it has more than just jungling use. Some top laners and supports will take it if they're preparing for a passive farm game (or in
Thresh and
Blitzcrank's case, a smite-grab).
Quite frankly, we'll always know who is jungling because we won't see them in lane. And if
Smite's active is put on an item, say like
Hunter's Machete, junglers can just buy 6 of those for instant profit while jungling. It won't be "smiteless" blue anymore - it'll be four-smite insta-kill.

He proposed a rework of the smite so each successive smite would deal 50% less damage (specifically to counter teams getting 5 smite items)
He says having jungler items with an active ''smite'' will make laners stop buying jungler items but having two smites (even though the second one would only do 50% damage) is still very strong lol

An active "Smite" is a GOOD thing. That'd only encourage MORE use of jungler items. Because it's free, ranged CS. That's ridiculously good in top lane.
I dunno, I think it is a cool concept if you were to see an enemy team and you actually have to guess who is going where :P
Also being able to pick 2 spells instead of 1 (since smite is really necessary) gives a bit more freedom, which I like.
Considering jungle items, I have an idea for that one aswell.
What if they apply a debuff on it, which means that every time you farm a minion, you would get 10% gold less than you would normally get, while monsters keep granting the same amount.
This would at least make people think twice before buying a jungle item in a lane :D
Also, the active smite effect of course needs to be only applicable towards monsters :D

Kind of a huge buff for junglers.
Suddenly, every jungler runs Flash Exhaust and Lvl 2 ganks are sure to burn Summoners or net a kill.
I think it's an interesting idea, but Riot has to be really careful if they're going to consider letting this through.

Yeah that's probably the main problem lol. Much stronger ganks. And the jungler would be forced to buy at least 1 jungler item too >_>. Instead of being forced to have one summoner spell for jungling, you're forced to have an item for jungle. meh
Doesn't seem to be a great idea, it would make junglers a LOT stronger...
But it would be a nice idea to make
Smite only applicable on neutral monsters, instead of enemy minions/pets also.

Basically the guy thinks the summoner spell
Obviously people started talking about champions with built-in
How do you feel about this? Good/bad idea? I actually think it would be interesting but maybe not in the way the guy suggests it.
