New Champion: Mel
Rumours that Mel would one day join the League of Legends roster have been floating around ever since her introduction in Season 1 of Arcane. An elegant, pragmatic politician sitting on the council of Piltover, we later learned of her ties to Noxus and strained relationship with her ruthless mother, Ambessa. She's entered a new era now, somewhat reluctantly returning to Noxus with powers she discovered in Season 2. We are sure to see even more when the next TV series is released, seeing as this installment would focus on Noxus.
While initially thought to be a support, considering how her most pivotal fight scene in Season 2 involved her protecting Caitlyn with a radiant shield, we now know that Mel is in fact a mid lane mage with a focus on burst damage. Though she has no way of directly buffing or shielding an ally, her crowd control and burst damage could make her a capable AP support as well, so don’t be surprised if you see her in the bot lane as well!

Mel’s Skins
Mel will be released next patch alongside a somewhat random assortment of skins, including a new skinline “Dumpling Darnlings” and more entries for the Mythmaker collection. Mel’s skin is, in fact, the last of the series of Arcane skins inspired by Season 2 of the TV Show. It’s Epic tier, which means it’ll run you 1350 RP. As an Epic tier skin, it comes with different sound and visual effects, a unique recall, and different animations across the board.
