Not fun. If you miss an E she will pin you to the wall for an eternity and kill you with her W. Goes without saying that any ADC that does good against Tank sups does good against ornn sup.
Morgana
Morgana can stop your engage and save their adc from any **** you try to pull. She ism't fun to fight but it isn't impossible. Easier if you build a speedy build to make it hard for her to hit skill shots.
Lulu
Lulu is annoying as **** to fight, she turns you from big goat god into small *** loser fox, and their ADC shoots piss pellets at you.
Heimerdinger
Not a common matchup but it is easily the most boring farm lane. He has all the to stop you from getting your grimy paws on the enemy adc, while also dealing massive damage. Go in on him if he is out of his turrets though. he dies pretty easily.
Ezreal
Ezreal pokes you to death and you can't do **** lol just try to get his sup if they suck at positioning, he cant deal with your all ins while you are locking down his sup
Caitlyn
Cait is a very hard matchup, mostly because getting to her is a real challenge. Even if you get to her, you have to account for her Net and Traps. Once you're on her though, You can spam your moves and **** her up.
Kai'Sa
Kai'sa can dish out a lot of damage. Her passive can **** you up hard if you aren't paying attention. Given those things, she also has to be near you due to her short range, allowing you to gap close easier.
Pyke
Pyke is very hard to deal with if he is hitting his hooks, like with thresh and blitz. Unlike those two, Pyke can output massive damage on you and ult you, killing you at 20% health. He also has no health, so if you can catch the slippery bastard he is done for.
Senna
Annoying long range poke but no movement abilities. Skill Matchup
(As an ADC, she is Minor due to the fact that she will be more preoccupied with csing than poking you)
Draven
Draven can do some big damage early game, but you are a big guy with thick skin. Later on, you start getting more Armor to deal with him. You can also W his knockback move. Overall try to wait for scaling and survive early game.
Jhin
Jhin can have a hard time keeping you off of him if you W his root, but he can also dish out a lot of damage. Make sure you can go in on him without getting disabled and bursted by him and his sup.
Jinx
If you don't **** her up early on, you are ****ed. Luckily for you, she has a terrible early game. Bully her out of lane.
Alistar
Alistar is extremely good at keeping you from doing what you want to do to his adc. You can W 1 out of 3 of his cc. Recommend you to use it on the headbutt so you can stay near him and CC him while your adc comes over and hits em.
Thresh
W his hooks, and nothing happens lol. W on cooldown? thats where it gets tricky. He can keep you off his adc pretty good so just try to use your W wisely and be the better tank sup
Blitzcrank
Same as thresh, except he has a little harder of a time keeping you off his ADC, than thresh, but that silence from his ult can hurt.
Nautilus
Naut is simmilar to thresh and Blitz, but a bit tankier. Make sure W his root rather than his hook, so you can be close to him and dish out your damage.
Rell
Rell is a skill matchup. She has a lot of CC, try to W her knockup. After that it comes down to skill and coordination to take her down.
Sett
You and sett have a simmilar goal, with simmilar damage, except he has dumb heals and a true damage move and you have more CC and dumb armor. Skill matchup. Ward bushes, he will get in them and go for hex flash.
Brand
Brand can definitely pile on big damage if you dont deal with his poke. You gotta really just get on top of him and W his stun.
Pantheon
Panth is a hard matchup, point and click stun combined with that frontal shield can do numbers to your health. W his point and click if you can react fast enough, use it pre-emptively if he's walking up to you menacingly. Also, use your Q when he does the shield as it still slows and puts up the rock, then go for E.
Yasuo
Yas is minor due to the fact that up close, you can W his tornado and then just do all your funny moves while he's in your face.
Braum
Braum can negate some of your damage, but you can also negate his CC with W. Overall in favor of Ornn
Bard
Bard's CC is really low range, which is good for you since you can just W it and then proceed to wreck him. Be careful of him roaming, you might want to go a roam build and counter roam. Also 90% of the time never go through his portal, he will CC you into the wall on the other side.
Soraka
CC her and she simply dies. (assuming she didn't put her root thing under herself), But, beware of the infinite poke she will **** at you and heal her adc with. They will both always be full health if you can't avoid her Q poke.
Ashe
Ashe slow can definitely be annoying for closing the gap, but ashe can't really do **** about your E and W and Exaust, making her just any other ADC with no movement abilities.
Yuumi
Yuumi is notoriously bad against all in comps. Don't take minor trades with Yuumi and her adc as they will come out on top due to overtime adc healing. Just cc the ADC to death and deal with her after. Save your exaust for her if possible.
Sona
Sona is like lux matchup but no root, although she can run away from you and heal her adc a lil. Same rule as yuumi, don't do short trades, and be mindful of her ult and poke.
Lux
Lux can't keep you off her if you W through her root and E through her slow. Overall easy lane, don't get poked to death
Aphelios
Might be biased because my Duo is m7 aphelios, but man does he have the 200 years of game development to back you up in your engages. Be mindful of his weapons though. Grav is always great to go in with, it will be super hard chained CC. Sniper and Sythe pistol isnt that good for going all in with, keep that in mind
Kai'Sa
Kai'sa can do massive damage going in with ornn, along with ornn procing her passive and holding the enemies for her to proc her passive even more. Melts squishies.
Samira
Samira can follow up with a **** ton of damage and keep enemies knocked up on your knockup. You can also keep her safe until lv 6 where she powerspikes.
Sivir
Sivir can put down a lot of damage with her Q while you CC, does a **** ton of damage, most people underestimate Sivir Q damage. She can also keep herself alive with her spell shield allowing you to roam if you so choose. This does work a lot better with lethality Sivir but thats what most sivirs build now anyways.
Draven
Draven has a ton of damage he can output with your CC. Thats all there really is to it draven just ********s people
Vayne
Vayne can E people into your rock which works really good if you guys are coordinated. You can also just E someone she's E'd into a wall to do high damage. Other than that she can go all in with you really well.
Ashe
Take Approaching velocity with her, It will always be active. She can slow them to help you waddle your slow *** toward the enemies.
Senna
Senna has good poke and damage to follow up with you, and can chain her CC into yours. Overall a decent pair.
Kalista
Kalista can go in with ornn and provide some good damage pretty easily due to her passive, and kalisa's ult is really good with ornn, Q E W / Q W E out of her ult for tons of chain CC.
Jhin
Ornn can set up for jhins damage and CC very well, along with ornn providing the CC Jhin needs to get his autos off.
Lucian
Lucian has high damage and mobility to keep up with ornn and apply pressure to the enemies while ornn is doing his thing.
Tristana
Trist can go in with you really easily and output a ton of damage onto your CC.
Twitch
Twitch AP got nerfed pretty hard but hes still pretty high damage, Your cc helps him stack his passive and do a lot of damage very easily.
Varus
Varus CC and damage works wonders with yours, lots of easy cc chaining and you are a good frontline for him.
Xayah
Ornn CC can help xayah set her feathers up and can help keep the enemies off of her
Yasuo
You and yas can **** people close range, but you also have a harder time not getting poked out of laning phase, as ornn takes a level or 3 to come online, which leaves you and yas very vulnerable lv 1-3
Caitlyn
Cait's high damage does good with ornn. Nothing too special though. She can chain CC with you aswell.
Jinx
Ornn can provide the protection Jinx needs early game in order to scale, and jinx can benefit from ornns front lining and high CC
Kog'Maw
Kog'maw needs a frontline to do his damage, and ornn works really well for this. Combo ornn CC with Kog'maw slow and it works out really well.
Ezreal
Ezreal can't really do the high damage and all in that ornn wants to do.

Ezreal
Ezreal can't really do the high damage and all in that ornn wants to do.
Living Forge is by far one of my favorite passives. Living forge allows Ornn to do 3 things. First, he can craft items anywhere. This can help minimize the amount you have to back while maximizing your lane pressure. Be warned that health and mana items only give you a % of the mana that you already have. Next, his passive boosts all his armor, magic resist, and health bonuses by 10% this is so good with the limited gold that botlane provides supports, you are always jacked on stats. Lastly, It lets you upgrade your mythic at lv 13, and your teams mythics from lv 14>17, Each mythic you upgrade gives you another 3% armor, mr, and hp bonus, bringing you to 28% stat boosts.
The path of upgrading peoples items I like to do is Most fed teammate > ADC > Jungle > Top > Mid. That is if you get there, you don't upgrade items often because of the limited sup exp gain.
Volcanic Rupture is your Q, which also is your combo starter, your poke, and your slow. Volcanic rupture also leaves a rock pillar at the end of the move that you can use as a wall with your E, as well as set up a wall for anyone like Poppy or Vayne so they can proc their moves.
Bellows Breath is your main damage move and the move you first upgrade, as well as the move that makes you immune to CC during the duration. Great move for allowing yourself to stick onto enemies, deal % health damage, and apply the brittle effect, which allows you to have an empowered auto / makes your CC last longer. You want to save this move for either using it to save your ADC from CC, using it to help stick to someone who is trying to CC you away from them, or just use it for the % damage.
Searing Charge is your dash and Knockup. Use it after your Q and W for massive knockup, and be sure to look for opportunities to use it on normal walls whenever you can. It also is good for dashing through stuff like lux E or Jhin Traps, as the slow is negated while you are using it.
Call of the Forge God ties Ornn's kit together. The move applies brittle twice, once on the way to you and once on the knock-up. Due to this. Ornn's ult is best for opening or ending a combo. If they are low and they walked under tower at this point now would be the time to ult and maybe dive them, you can E the tower when diving for a knockup. If you are already close to the enemies and they have no easy escape, Ult to start. Make sure to use every stack of Brittle they have, either autoing them or E'ing them.
Items
Ornn Items Breakdown
Locket of the Iron Solari is your standard cheap support item. Works good if you don't have the money to spend on some of the bigger items/mythics. Pop it when you go in, and thats pretty much the whole item.
Iceborn Gauntlet is really good into enemies with low movement abilities. Helps with your sticking power toward adc's like Ashe or Yasuo.
Turbo Chemtank helps Ornn with one of his big weaknesses, his speed. Really helps you close the gap toward enemies with high movement speed while also slowing them, allowing you to combo your CC.
Sunfire Aegis Standard tank item, doesn't do anything wacky but provides good stats if you can cough up the cash for it. Works well with slowing items to keep the enemies in its passive.
Early/Mid/Late Game
Ornn Laning + full game breakdown
Early game you're going to be doing two things. If you and your adc have the lane priority, you will be sitting in the bushes looking for those Q>W>E Combos and you will try to keep the enemy adc away from farm while not getting killed.
If not that, you will be standing near your adc blocking cc for them with W and going in when they do, protecting them from getting pushed away from the cc. Other than that, ward frequently, and be mindful of the map. If your adc isn't in any imminent danger, roam. But don't roam too much, you will fall behind on levels.
Mid game starts when you take your bot tower. By now you and your adc should probably try to go mid and take any towers that haven't already been taken. Ward objectives, teamfight, push waves, farm, etc.
Late game, you should have some mythics upgraded and you'll start to see just how tanky ornn can be with those bonuses his passive provides. Teamfighting, pushing lanes, warding and setting up baron, and protecting your team are your main goals. Ornn has great engage so set up favorable team fights before the enemy does.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading my first ever mobafire guide! I'm sorry its kinda short but this guide is mostly for people who have a basic understanding of the support role, and you got interested in seeing this Ornn support guide. If you are an Ornn player who never considered playing him support, I suggest you learn the support role from other highly rated guides. Most of the basic support concepts they tell you in other tank support guides should apply to Ornn, for the most part. If you guys have any feedback on any of the things I've said, please let me know in the comments! I will be updating this guide frequently into the future (adding a section talking about runes soon and another section talking about general tips and other strategies later) to hopefully bring Ornn into the support meta!
