Teamfight Tactics Guide

14.2 TFT Guide

By misterfirstblood
Introduction
Hey Guys!
It's Misterfirstblood from Europe West here with my second TFT Guide. Im currently Diamond in double up and emerald in TFT Ranked on EUW (I didn't play 50 games of soloQ yet, surely I will climb a lot higher).
I played about 200 Games this set, spent a ton of time reading reddit, watching streams, theorycrafting and in teambuilder to improve my TFT knowledge and finally I decided to write down some guides for you guys to share some of my knowledge and experience so far. I would love to hear your Feedback and I really hope to help some of you guys out with it a bit!
Previous Patch (14.1)
The strongest Comps in Patch 14.1 were by far Disco and Twin Terror Vex/Twitch.
Also Country, Yone Reroll, Riven Reroll and K/DA builds were in a pretty solid and playable top 4 state.
Other Comps were okay with good parameters but not powerful enough to keep up with the mentioned ones.

You can read the full patch notes of 14.2 here:

And the previous one here

I also created an in depth analysis of the latest patch here on mobafire:

Most important Changes in 14.2 in a Nutshell
- Disco & TF Nerfs
- Punk & Jinx Buffs
- Vex & Twin Terror Nerfs
- MF, Kai'sa, Ezreal & Big Shot Augment Buffs
- Karthus, Kayle, Urgot Reworks
Most important Changes explained
Disco:
Disco dominated the last Patch very hard. All Units received straight up Buffs and it was clear by reading that Disco will be S Tier in this Patch. So they have to tune them down a little by reducing his Damage and Mana and directly reducing the Stats the Disco Trait itself grants to the units every couple of seconds too, resulting in less Healing and Attack speed for the entire board.
It will be still playable and much less contested then before, but not strong enough to guarantee a top 4 slot in patch 14.2 anymore.

Punk & Jinx:
5 AD for Jinx is already a ton, especially when you think about the Attack speed she is able to stack with a guinsoo's and rapidfire trait. By increasing the Punk's base statline, all the additional Stats you gain from rolling will be increased too. You remember the Tons of Stats augment? You basically gain that one for free in this patch. If uncontested this will be an S Tier comp for sure.

Vex & Twin Terror:
Vex was one of the strongest units in the game in 14.1 so her CC duration got decreased. Also They changed twin terror in a way it doesnt increase your crit rate anymore, so in these scenarios vex is double nerfed in this patch. While twitch as a second carry of this comp still benefits from the other stats that were increased, the comp itself shouldnt be that crazy as before. Getting Crit Rate from an augment was just too unfair paired with Excecutioner Trait. You can surely still play Twin terror, but expect vex to be much weaker. I'd say its still atleast an A Tier comp.

MF, Kai'Sa, Ezreal Buffs & Big Shot Augment:
I think after these Buffs not only the OG Jazz MF Reroll build is finally playable again, you also see a lot of Kai'sa Reroll comps nowadays, and she got buffed once again. If you manage to play this comp with dual carry or have a big shot headliner and play an Ezreal/Jhin for 4 Big Shots, paired with a solid frontline you are pretty good to go. All of the Big Shot ADC units are now in a good state and when already playing MF its super easy to activate Jazz and receive additional stats from that trait.

Karthus, Kayle, urgot reworks:
Karthus will now always crit when possible and additional crit rate gets converted to AP, which means if you play atleast 2 Executioners or slam JG to him he know consistently crits. He also stacks damage instead of getting mana back when ulting multiple times and needs less total Mana. In longer fighst the reworked karthus should outdamage the old one.

Kayle and Kata reroll are in a super good spot now too, so expect linear Pentakill builds and crowd divers to see a comeback here.
Best Team Comps in 14.2

S Tier:

Pentakill

Executioners

Punk

Jazz

K/DA

Crowd Divers

Country

A Tier:

Twin Terror

Disco

Reroll Comps:
Katarina, Seraphine > Kayle, Riven, Yone, Lux

B Tier:

Ahri Sentinels, True Damage, 8bit, Heartsteel
Reroll Comps: Jax, Lulu, Vi, Yasou, Olaf, Annie
Conclusion
It does not change too much in this patch. You can expect to see more Punk, Jazz, Kata and Kayle comps while the play rate of Disco, Vex, Yasou Reroll, and Olaf with too big too fall will go down a bit.
Seeing Kata/Kayle Reroll builds and Punk Boards poppin of will be fun to watch, but not add too much content, that it feels like an entire new game in patch 14.2
