Good gap-closer or escape ability with his Q.
A decent slow.
Massive attack speed steroid with his ultimate.
Gains attack speed through passive.
Cons

If you build him glass cannon you will be destroyed in teamfights.
CC counters Aatrox hard.
If you're blood well is empty your attack speed is extremely low as to when it is full.
