Why no Ignite? Pretty simple actually. Ahri is an bursty assassin. Most likely you won't even need to use ignite to kill the enemy. So with Ignite out of the picture, it leave with only 5 other summoner skills to be used over ignite. I prefer Teleport because it is very good to use for joining other lanes with their fights, making Ahri another Shen. Just have map awareness and with your Spirit Rush ready and one heck of a gank is ready at any time.
The other 4 summoner skills are Clarity, Barrier, Exhaust, and Heal. Clarity is actually very good for Ahri early game but once it get to late game however, it becomes really dull since you can grab blue or Athene's Unholy Grail. Barrier is also another good choice, but I just prefer Teleport but feel free to grab it. Exhaust I could understand why you would grab it making it easier to land skills shots, but I wouldn't depend on it so much since practicing to land skill shots is much more reliable. As for Heal, its the same thing for Clarity

Whoa wait a second. No Magic resist and Armor for runes? YES, this means you will most likely have to build something to replace it and there is 2 reasons behind it. Most likely if you go and look at other guides, they will tell you to use Magic resist or Armor runes. BUT as you know, Ahri is an mage assassin, meaning that she is squishy and little magic resist and armor in your runes wont be helping much. The second reason is because if you do focus some in your runes (not sayings its bad to do it), mostly likely your burst won't be as strong once you hit level 6. Other than these runes, I've never really tested any others so I cant say much about those.
This is actually a very standard mastery for any mid. 21-0-9. As stated before, getting small amounts armor and magic resist is not as useful on Ahri, so you throw the left of your points to either in the AD in the offense masteries or the support masteries. Really the only difference from my masteries and others is choosing
Vampirism
over
Runic Affinity
. "Why?" do you ask? Well to be honest, depending how fast you build Athene's Unholy Grail you wont even need blue. In my opinion, you get more than enough mana regen from the grail. Also
Runic Affinity
only works IF you get blue, if you don't have it, its pretty useless.
Wondering why I don't exactly max out just one first? Well for Ahri and pretty much everyone else in lane, its about farming and poking so Orb of Deception is good for for both of that. Then, after level 6, Ahri becomes a real assassin and in my perspective having Fox-Fire at level one the entire time is really useless and besides Orb of Deception at level 3 is good enough since it does do true damage. The same is also Visa Versa when maxing out Fox-Fire first, making Orb of Deception useless. |
At the moment, the choices for starting items for me, seems to be kind of how I feel like the game is going to go. If I feel like its going to be a me pushing kinda of game, I will most likely grab Crystalline Flask because this way I have the extra gold to buy wards instead of potions. If I feel like I won't know what will happen, mostly likely I will grab the boots with pots. If I'm ranking, I will most likely to go for the boots and pots because I can substain longer in lane and the movement speed will be useful and since its ranked, I will have to buy wards.
To be honest, there isn't anything special here, because a lot of people build really close to this build. You have your AP with some MR penetration Rabadon's Deathcap Void Staff and Sorcerer's Shoes with some substain Athene's Unholy Grail Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
Aw man its going to be a long list from here. most likely, it will have to be updated later on because since I'm adding top lanes, its going to take a while.
This guy on top is a real pain. Even though Ahri is ranged, auto attacking or poking this guy is pretty much useless since he can just heal it off by hitting minions. So yeah, don't try it because its just really hard without your jungle babysitting top. This match up is most likely to be a who-has-the-most-skills-match-up. If you happen to have played Ahri for a while. Such as me XP. You will notice a very common pattern made from any Ahri. When they step up, most likely Orb of Deception or Charm will be fired. When they walk up to you, Fox-Fire will be used. For her Spirit Rush, you wont be able to dodge it, but keep moving to her left or right so that while she is throwing her combo, you will at least have a chance to dodge her skill shots. Pre 6 this is a really easy match up, as long as you stay away from her Twilight Shroud. But after level 6, it can get tricky since her Shadow Dance is somewhat better than your Spirit Rush. Also be prepared to call a lot of MIA's or do a lot of pinging because she can gank as well as you can. But overall, this match up can depend who is playing Ahri and who is playing Akali This isn't a hard lane, its just not a easy lane. Well yeah Ahri's moves do much better than Anivia's but her passive is what makes it a lane that kind of annoying. If you happen to even kill anivia, her passive will stop her from dying and most likely your move will be on cooldown. In other words, you have to take down all that hp again with just auto attacking. which is impossible without her reviving with her cooldowns done with. So do have your jungler come in every now and then to help.

Overall, Ahri is really fun to play and to be honest, Ahri is really underrated, since not much people play her in games. Also don't be discouraged about losing so much with ahri first because a lot of people that has played her needs to get used to the range of her Fox-Fire and being able to shoot skill shots while using Spirit Rush. [It just requires some practice. [And because I can here is my anime crush
