He's a rare pick but is an incredible pain in the *** to deal with. Xerath is an serious problem because of his cc that blocks pretty much all of your early game potential. Get your jungle to sit on your lane and then beat him down as quickly as you can.

Introductions
Hello and welcome to my guide!
My name is Ryan and I have been playing Akali for a very long time. Akali has always been a grey subject when it comes to the current meta, and with her recent nerfs she has lost a lot of her early game potential. Using these builds you should be able to make your lane opponent cry salty tears as you're blowing them up with a single combo.
Runes
This gives you your extra damage on your autos and spells, this is because a lot your damage comes your Q procs, if you're not going to go for hybrid pen or if you don't have the runes at the moment, you can sub in magic pen or 5 AP runes and 4 AD runes.
This gives your late game the damage that you need, this is giving you your damage that you need to bring up your damage that scales really hard. If you're going to sub in something else for this you could drop in MR runes or flat AP runes.
I wouldn't take this out for anything, this armour is what gives you your strength early to duel without your ult.
This gives you your early game damage which usually caps off at around 66 AD and around 17 AP to start off with.
Items
This is your everything.
Never not buy hextech.
As for the other items, a lot of it is just damage boosting that gives you your late game. If you ever fall behind and you need to catch up I can assure you, you can always make a comeback with either a hextech or a lich bane. Akali is a hyper carry, just keep calm and keep ulting.
Spells
Q -> R -> E -> Basic attack
A basic combo when you put it into play, and will pretty much serve to kill anybody at a quick pace, if you ever feel like you're getting too low and feel like your about to die just drop your W.

In summary, the situations that Akali can put her opponents into and the amount
of damage that can be unleashed in just a few spells makes her one of, if not,
the best assassins in league. Her play potential with your team on the sidelines
you can absolutely win, and if you ever get knocked down and beaten by your
enemy team, just hang back and kill-steal.
