This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
Alistar Is a strong CC champion. If he hits you with his combo and his team follows up you might die. If he dashes towards you aim a tornado at him and activate it before he can hit you, therefore cancelling his combo
Bard
His abilities and auto's can easily be blocked with Janna's shield. If he Ults your team try to peel for them with your tornado.
Blitzcrank
If he pulls you or an ally, shield very quickly and you should be able to negate the damage from his follow-up knock up. Try to slow him with your W.
Brand
Does a bit of damage early game shield should block most of the damage. Stand away from ally hit by his ultimate or if you are hit yourself.
Braum
If he gets to close either tornado him or slow him to stop his advance or slow it temporally.
Karma
Her Q is up more often than your E in the early game. Prioritize blocking her empowered abilities as they can force an ADC to back early.
Leona
If she tries dashing towards you, a tornado will stop her in her tracks and a follow-up slow will further stop her engage.
Lulu
Janna's Shield will block all of the damage from her abilities with ease throughout the whole game.
Lux
Dont stand close to you allies as Lux can stun both of you a lot easier than if you where standing apart. In the late game if she uses her ultimate on a low team mate, shielding them and healing them with your ult has a chance at stoping her from killing them.
Morgana
Her Spell Shield will negate the damage and CC from all of your Abilities, which makes Disengaging harder to achieve. Ulting her away from team mates when she Ults usually breaks the links she has except with you and her.
Nami
You will have to be ready shield a lot in the early game as name will try poking you down a lot with her ebb and flow, Avoid getting hit by her bubble as you will be unable to Disengage, or peel during that time.
Nautilus
Keep your distance, use your slow or tornado if needed. Try using tornado against his hook because it will stop his advance.
Sona
Prioritize shielding her Empowered autos, Her Movement speed makes it easy to dodge your tornado and can make her faster than your slow, rendering it useless against her.
Soraka
Your movement speed should allow you to dodge all of her abilities easily. try to poke her down with autos to minimize the amount of times she can heal.
Tahm Kench
Use your W to slow him from approaching you so that he will have a harder time trying to eat you.
Taric
Avoid his stun as it can get you killed. If he Ults get away from him and other invincible allies. use your Ultimate if you need to protect you and your allies.
Thresh
Can dish a lot of damage out, Your shield should be able to stop most of the damage he deals. Getting hooked will make you unable to shield or disengage util you are free. Tornado him if he does hook you or an ally.
Zyra
Deals a Ton of damage. Try to kill plants as they spawn or before they do to minimize damage dealt.
My name is Anthony, and I am support main and have been for the past year. This is my first guide so don't be too harsh :) I main Janna as she is my favourite support with Leona following up.
I hope you enjoy :)
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Pros
+Fast movement speed + Good Disengage + Heals and shields + Crowd control spells
Janna's quick movement speed allows you to escape ganks from enemy jungler's, you Howling Gale allows you to peel for her allies. Janna's Eye of the Storm allows you to protect a single target in you back line and with Athene's Unholy Grail you can heal them too. In large team fights using your Monsoon gives your entire team sustain to fight longer and more efficiently.
Pros
+ When Zephyr is on cool down janna loses the passive movement + Squishy when Eye of the Storm is on cool down + Very little Damage early game + Long cool downs early game
Early game Janna's Cool downs can be very long especially her Eye of the Storm with a base cool down of 10 seconds. If you go Full utility you can provide excellent peel and utility to your team but, you will have almost no damage what so ever.
Expose Weakness Allows your allies to deal increased damage to enemies when you hit them with your abilities, usually your Howling Gale.
With your Eye of the Storm Ability, at the start of the game upon casting it on your ADC will grant them 1.5 AD which will help them CS a bit easier and do a little bit more damage in trades.
Team Work
Team Work
Items in team fights
Janna Is a very strong team fighter due to her utility and peel. in a team fight you should be about in the middle of your team and when your allies start taking damage you will want to use Locket of the Iron Solari to give them a big shield to allow them to survive longer in battle. When your team is diving a turret or is starting to get to about half health, using Redemption can heal your allies for a good chunk of health and can damage any enemies in the vicinity. Try to poke enemies and stack your Athene's Unholy Grail so that you can heal any low allies with your shield.
Abilities in team fights
Janna's Howling Gale is very useful in team fights because when fully charged it will reach there backline and CC all enemies hit for a few seconds leaving them venerable. Her ultimate , Monsoon Can push enemies trying to get into your backline away and heal your allies in the vicinity while doing so.
