AP Tahm Kench mid, the magic frog (Fun Build)

By Sq_09
Hey, it's me!

Heyo,

I'm Sq_09 and im a casual LoL player.

Through this description alone, you should've noticed, that anything I post here is not serious, viable or ranked-proof. I'm more about having fun and stuff and playing trolly but fun builds like this. With that said ... Tahm Kench mid.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- high damage
- decent sustain
- good 1v1s early
- easy time lasthitting
- high amount of cc
Cons:
- not AS much sustain
- falls off lategame
- has to go in for a Devour
- slow as froc
Gameplan
Your gameplan as Tahm Kench mid is basically to:
- Win earlygame and bully as much as possible vs wining lanes.
- Be an area denial thread.
- Pick up easy solo kills
- melt towers (you can take Demolish)
- quickly snack some enemy camps
- Devour

You have a pretty decent earlygame. Together with your passive An Acquired Taste and your Tongue Lash you can harrass your opponent really well. You have high base damage, which is very helpful for trading and if you get full stacks of An Acquired Taste you might be able to secure a kill or get a recall out. You can turn trades into full fights, which makes it very scary to trade versus you, which you can use to your advantage to zone out your opponent and deny then CS. You also have a really easy time lasthitting. If you get a kill or two, you're not gonna be stopped for the rest of laning phase, really.

You are gonna be a real thread at close range because of your Devour, tankiness and just general damage output. You can use this to your advantage by denying space with your shear existance. No one's gonna wanna come near you solo, so you can easily keep enemies out of fights or kill them if they come too close. You also can't be burst down that easily, because of your natural tankiness and Thick Skin, which makes it relatively safe and not an instant death. Everyone is gonna be scared of the fat frog guy just stompin around in the river.

You can easily 1v1 people. If they come too close for too long, they're gonna get Devoured and die. Sometimes just sneaking into the enemy jungle and contesting camps is either worth a kill, a camp or some map control. Just try not getting into 1v2s bc you're most likeley gonna lose them, if it's not too early in the game.

You absoluteley dismantle towers. If you manage to get a kill or a recall, and push the wave under the tower quickly enough, you're gonna get at least one plating if not even two or more off of it. Your An Acquired Taste AA damage really destroys towers and a juicy Demolish can really add to that. later on you can also go splitpushing really well, with your insanely high AA damage and Demolish literally demolishing towers.

since your Devour deals massive damage to monsters, it's not a bad idea to just occasionally walk up to a camp and take it, if there isn't enough time to fully roam. The health regeneration from Thick Skin also makes you take relativeley low damage from camps after leaving them, which makes it not that dangerous to go for a quick solo invade.

If you get your Hail of Blades AAs off, you can instantlly either stun or Devour them, dealing some nice damage, displacing them a bit and even taking them out of teamfights for a few seconds. This ability is really strong if used correctly and it's Tahm Kench's main gimmick.
Laning
You have strong laning and you can zone with the shier thread of getting Devoured.

You can CS really easily with your passive and go for safe cs with your Tongue Lash.

You can bully enemies in lane really well with your Tongue Lash, An Acquired Taste-empowered AAs and win trades easily with your AA damage and Thick Skin-heal. If you get outpoked, you can try to hide behind minions or go for some kind of sneaky engage with Flash or something of that matter.

You can roam really well with Devour and your Tongue Lash's stun/slow or a Devour. The CC and displacement, Tahm Kench brings is phenomenal and definetely something to think about using through roaming. After a successful gank you can also take your laner with you and engage onto your lane with Devour in a 2v1. Tahm kench is really well suited for roaming and fighting if he has his lane pushed in or gets a tower.

As mentioned in Chapter: Gameplan, you melt towers. I'm not gonna go in detail about that here, but you can check out the respective section in the last chapter for more information.

Conclusion
You can kill people really early and just be a scary *** piece of ****, no one wants to go near for the rest of the game, which is a pretty neat spot to be in c:

I hope you liked this Fun-Guide. If you have any feedback or criticism please tell me. I'm glad to get any kind of advice.

Bye, and see you on the rift.
