Dedicated of course to Chaotic Version in hopes he adopts Lulu as his new main since she's my fave to play competitively, along with Nami. Why these two? I think Lulu and Nami, mayhaps also Janna, are the best to play in SoloQ. Why? S.S.S. They are 1) safe 2) strong and 3) sfun

Specifically when it comes to Lulu; she's a top tier support, used to be perma banned until recently. I'd say she's tier 1 still (patch 7.14 atm). Her pros & cons are:

____________________Strong Poke
____________________Great Peel
____________________Lots of CC
____________________Good with all ADCs
____________________Polymorph best ability in the game

____________________Low Mobility
____________________VERY Squishy
____________________Squishy

So she's definitely more good than bad. Her only real cons are that she's squishy and has no gap closers, hand to heart I can't really think of any other downsides. of course, the fact that she has these two in particular are a pretty bad combo because you need to watch your footing a lot. If you're in a dangerous position and you get caught on, you will likely die. This goes down as the game goes up slightly because you'll have good items and your ultimate to save you though. And of course, Flash and hopefully a team that loves you.

Gonna talk about her pros a bit later on, or rather just how to utilize your pros in the best way. For now I'll touch on the build a little bit. I think my build is slightly unorthodox and focuses more on the aggressive side of Lulu. Another build would be with Ionian Boots of Lucidity or Mobility Boots & Windspeaker's Blessing, with E max. I don't think this is bad per se, but I haven't had success with it personally. I don't think it's good to sacrifice her damage just to boost her utility, because she always has a lot of utility inherently. But by sacrificing just Thunderlord's Decree, you lose out on so much lane control.

When it comes to spells, I put Ignite in the cheat-sheet because I think that's the superior SoloQ spell - it'll land your AD a better advantage which is what you want. But Exhaust is the obvious alternative and I use it pretty often myself against really annoying enemy champions like Zed Yasuo Riven, bursty assassins basically. And Draven. Exhaust is safer so I tend to pick it a lot in ranked personally cuz I'm a bit of a puss.

Your core is Sightstone (later Eye of the Watchers) + Sorc's + Ardent and Redemption. After this I've listed a few options, if you get that far into the game, but there 4 are the most important. Well by these 4 I mean just Ardent and Redemption anyway.

Makes your E give your ADC or whoever you shield bonus attack speed and lifesteal. In teamfights you'll want a shield on your ADC pretty much 100% of your time. Get used to using it not just defensively to repel damage but offensively to make your ADC deal more damage because of the bonus attack speed. Also be sure to put a W on your ADC too for extra extra AS. Only don't buy it with Jhin since AS doesn't help him much.

Don't need to talk too much about Redemption since you're a support main but it's a very good item stats wise and active wise and you should get it every game imo.

You should always have bought 4-5 Control Wards a game, if you buy less then pump the numbers up. If you have 120 gold spare after buying an item, it's better to buy control ward + 1 potion than 2 potions. Control wards are better than sightstone wards because, if unseen, they last forever. By putting it somewhere secluded even if they never find an enemy, you'll at least know there's no enemy there. Always have 1 on the map and 1 in your inventory.

Most important thing about your Q is the combo I've talked about before. It's a great peel tool because of the 80% slow.

When ahead you should use it on your ADC to improve his trading with the attack speed buff. When equal or less, use it on the enemy ADC to shut him down in a fight. W also interrupts stuff like Miss Fortune or Lucian or Jhin ult. It gives movement speed too which is useful for going to ward or to lane.

Usually best to use it on your ally unless you have Thunderlord's up, then better to use it with your AA and Q on an enemy and chunk them for half HP. Mid-late game focus on ally because of Ardent Censer.

Use on ally who is about to die obviously, but also can be used aggressively to knock-up enemies around you or your ally and CC them.

Some people like to max E first but I say always max Q. Q is your laning power. Your poke combo is E AA Q or E AA Q, this combo will deal half an ADC/squishy support's health during laning phase. It's possible to miss it, but rare. Even outside of the Thunderlord's Combo, Q does a lot of standalone damage especially after finishing Frostfang and Sorc's.

Second max is E because the shield is still useful quite a bit and it does deal damage as well. W third and ulti at 6, 11 and 16 of course.

Lulu is very safe as I've said and she is good with every ADC ergo you can pick her basically every game. Her laning phase is strong because of her strong poke namely, but she is also good with straight-up fights because of her W E and R.

At level 1 try to get level 2 first. Once you do, you can already start dishing out the E AA Q combo that'll chunk enemies at this level. If you're against a squishy support like Zyra, Janna, Nami then I suggest you take this opportunity to kill them, especially with ignite.

At level 6 your engage is similar, but you're just more likely to survive because of your ult.
