One of if not Darius worst ranged matchups or matchups period. Stack as much anti-ranged **** as you possibly can(second wind, dorans, boots rush) you have ZERO priority in this lane, thank god hes not picked as much top anymore as he once was before.
Vayne
A staple and known Darius counterpick. This lane is very tough as she can poke you inbetween the waves and there is little to nothing you can do about it. She can also kite you to oblivion and beyond. Try to last hit under the tower and never shove the wave against her as she can run you down easily especially if she matches your summoner spells IF YOU HOOK HER ALWAYS GHOST. after stridebreaker it gets a little easier to play around her ******** but early on it is very hard to generate a lead/pressure against her. If your really about that life i suggest going edge of night second item as it blocks her E from actually ccing you. Going the Agro runepage also makes it impossible for her to run away if you are on her. again, this is only for the brave.
Cassiopeia
Another counterpick that is barely picked but when it is it is very tough to play against. pre 6 try to look for smart engages with your E same as the vayne matchup if you hook always ghost play mostly around your CDs and post 6 play around your ult. She can run you down easily and actually heals a lot from doing so if she runs conq. Good thing about this matchup is unlike vayne once you do have her in your melee ranged its kinda hard for her to get away unless she flashes but still very hard nonetheless.
Wukong
Wukong is kinda weird because he actually is one of your worst melee matchups but he is never picked. Pretty much he has a gap closer that is easy to execute, can go invis so its very hard to track him has great dueling potential with his e and q and post 6 he can all in you from full with ignite. try to survive the initial all in that he does on you because if you do you can turn the fight in your favor, never use your q unless its to farm minions because he can easily dash inside of it and try to save your e to do the e+q combo.
Jayce
jayce is the most picked counterpick in toplane right now(patch 13.16) and is my go to ban. Laning phase is pretty bad considering the fact that he has pure prio over you at lvl 1. saving your abilities and playing for CDs is crucial in this matchup. most jayce players will start with poking you down a little then performing a all in with his hammer form, when that happens try to time your E at the same time he knocks you away from him. it will stun him in mid air and you can ghost for a easy free kill. it is very easy to make a mistake in this lane if you are not knowledgeable about the matchup, thats why you got me :).
Karma
Whoever picks this there mother does not love them at all. Anyways, this matchup is one of the more tame ranged matchups as her damage is pretty low but shes just annoying to play against as if you make a mistake or small misstep she can poke you down really easily. Most karma top players play to poke you down and setup for their jungler so try to watch out for that by either getting a deepward into the enemy jungle or respecting her while the lane is pushed towards her. She has little mobility so getting to her is pretty easy however, sticking on to her is the hard part. I found that rushing mercs reaaaaaaaaally helps in this matchup and it makes it so much easier to actually run her down, Swiftys also can work in this situation as well. pretty much shes a very boring ranged top pick.
Ryze
Bruh. i mean if this champion is picked its very similar to the karma matchup execpt he goes phase rush so once he does poke you its very hard to catch him. try to get a timing on when his phase rush is down and prep a all in. Ryze has ZERO early game damage against you untill he completes his FIRST OR SECOND ITEM(everfrost= kill pressure ROA= scaling) so until lvl 11-12 basically try to look for any opportunities to kill him.
Rumble
Alright the first rat. Rumble is actually quite strong against Darius even though they are both melee he has good burst, mr shred and good dps. try to play around his overheat system and trade accordingly NEVER TRY TO FIGHT WHILE HES ALMOST OVERHEAT. pre 6 rumble is pretty easy to take down if he is nowhere near his overheat, post 6 is when it gets a little hard but shouldn't be to bad. if the jg is also ap i suggest going double mr with mercs but one mr rune is also fine to. when rumble has no overheat he is actually very weak. Playing behind your minions is also a strat if your trying to dodge his e. If he has ignite trade carefully because one good overheat rotation and your dead from 60% HP.
Kennen
A lighting squirrel. Your probably wondering why Kennen isnt apart of the extreme threats category and i can tell you right now: Pressure. Kennen actually gets weaker against you overtime whereas every single champion in the extreme tier beats you in every stage of the game. In a side lane it is literally impossible for Kennen to all in you/ kill you he MUST poke you down first. However Kennens true strength lies in his early game and teamfighting pressure later on and how hard he can prevent you from getting a lead before you can even retaliate. This lane isn't a loss however, rushing mercs or hexdrinker easily makes this matchup a breeze if you play optimally. try to bait out his E because wasting your E just for him to use his and run away isn't really worth it so try to get his E first then ghost and all in and ****. Try to last hit as much as you can because his poke is no joke.
Varus
I've decided after much delegation to add this champion to the list even though this pick is mostly for high elo low elo players can also use this to there advantage. So Varus top has became a thing now and it really is easy to play against if you understand what he wants to do. You want to lock down on tenacity in this matchup i suggest going the tenacity runepage, tenacity stops varus's main focal point of the matchup which is to lock you down and poke from range. Most Varus top players will go ap so mercs is a really good buy into him aswell. once you catch him it is like gp in which he has ZERO MOBILITY and is very easy to chase even when he matches your summoner spells. Also go the anti raged ****(dorans second wind).
Kalista
THIS IS LITERALLY THE EXACT COPY PASTE VAYNE MATCHUP. SHE IS A LITTLE STRONGER EARLY ON.
Akshan
Were getting there boys. Akshan is actually one of the more easier ranged matchups top but he still is a ranged champion so be careful of that. lvl 3 is your powerspike in this lane try to ghost first then look to cancel his e with yours and then start to walk infront of him. He cannot do anything execpt flash away from you. His poke is very decent and if he has ignite your power spike actually goes from lvl 3 to lvl 4. try not to eat too much poke from this champion.
Quinn
Whoever said that this is Darius worst matchup is lying to you straight up. This is a tough matchup dont get me wrong but this matchup is no where NEAR the extremes. So with that being said Quinns dmg is pretty **** as she has no % dmg or true dmg its really only flat stats so rushing tabis is a must in this matchup her E is a really good **** off tool for anyone that tries to get on her but if you hit your e and walk up infront of her you can deny her pressure and make her use her ONLY mobility spell next to your tower. If you can start that trade with a w before you use your e that will be huge as you can save your e for when she e's in fact, if you time it right she will be stuck in the air and you can ghost for a free kill(sound familiar)?
Gangplank
Used to be a permaban but because of the recent nerfs hes no longer as oppressive. simple matchup he has ZERO mobility, can cleanse your E and has very good poke so simple solution, destroy his barrels to negate almost 80% of his dmg, if he is very close to you start the trade with a auto w then ghost and run him down, lvl 1 you are actually pretty strong against him if he starts his E so if he tries something show him why strength is absolute.
Jax
As we go down the list matchups get easier with mechanical prowess and the need for outplaying your opponent going down the more we go through these. My explanation for different matchups will go down as well untill we hit the easier matchups as i will show you how to snowball a lead and take control of the lane.
So Jax also used to be a ban for me for awhile post rework but a few good nerfs and hes now a hard matchup. He will **** on you lvl 1 with lethal ignite and his E no matter what DO NOT TRADE WITH HIM. after lvl 1 lane gets easier, try to hook him while hes in his counterstrike to cancel it out after that happens, you can either ghost for an all in or **** off and go back to farming, remember your E CD is longer than his(24 seconds for Darius 14 for Jax) so keep that in mind when you trade with him. It is very crucial that you hit your Q as if you don't it is a auto lose trade. RUSHING TABIS IS A LITERAL MUST
Teemo
Rat # 3. Teemo is a very annoying matchup but very easy to build against somehow. you can go full anti-range(dorans, second wind) and especially into Teemo you can rush Spectre's Cowl and it will work. Most teemo players wil rush boots(either swiftys or Tabis) so if you play incorrectly you will get kited. Teemo is like Quinn he also possess zero % health dmg or true dmg and also has very low mobility so catching him is easier said than done if played correctly staying on his however is the problem as most teemo players will kite towards there shrooms and slow you down while your trying to chase him sweeper is a very easy counter to that.
Trundle
Lethal plus ignite = death. He also uses bork so well its insane. if your planning to all in try to ghost and kite trundle without w is immobile AF so kiting him wont be a problem. once his ult runs out you can look for a rengage.
Fiora
even as ****. WARNING IF SHE HAS GRASP YOU DO NOT WIN LVL 1. Alright so pretty much this matchup is easy because you have no readable cc that she can parry. your mission is to get to 5 bleed as fast as possible cause if you don't in the middle of a trade she will out trade you and look for an all in against you. try not to get hit by her W as her attack speed slow is cancerous to deal with. ignite makes her a little bit more scary but nothing we cant handle. pre 6 is sleeper as she wont really look for all ins unless your below 50% hp so she will mostly poke you using her vitals. To counter this if there is a vital facing towards her that she can easily hit walk away until she is out of your vision range this will reset the vital group and put it in a position where its either behind you or above you. She outscales you in a side lane but in a teamfight unless she flanks she ****.
Mordekaiser
I was going to put this in the easy matchups but i keep forgetting all mordes run ignite like betas, its a skill matchup. Playing around your minions is good because you reduce mordes q dmg if he decides to hit you, hexdrinker is optional if you dont want to make this lane more snowbally than it already is but you can also go negatron cloak then finish with FoN second. post 6 he will all in you with ignite if this happens kite him as much as you possible using ghost while your in his ultimate. if he is very low and your looking for the killing blow save your e so that you can E+R him before he can W and block the dmg. A good way to start the trade with him or all in is to wait for him to use his e and while his e is active you walk into it and Q. This makes it so your Q will ALWAYS hit him. Pre 6 hes kinda weak however with ignite this makes him a decent duelist.
Olaf
If you start W lvl 1 you win, if you start q you lose. pre 6 hes an ok duelest watch out for consistent poke as it can lead to an all in. post 6 he can run you down, play around his Q as that is most of his dmg, rush tabis go Second wind instead of Boneplating.
Akali
This is a skill matchup. hitting your Q is vital in this matchup as it negates some of her q poke. If you poke her a little more with Q it can lead to an all in. Try to bait out her W as its her only tool she can use to out trade you by going into stealth and getting off cheap auto attacks and passive procs. if she goes the Tp ignite setup its a little harder but nothing we can't handle. She has a million dashes so saving your E is crucial as well.
Pantheon
Skill matchup. You do not have prio lvl 1 and 2 after that its free game STOP GOING BONEPLATING AND GO SECOND WIND most of his dmg is going to come from poke with his q so second wind dorans is really good for stopping that. try to save your e for when he empower E's away from you or if your trying to hit him with your ult do the R+flash combo so you can flash BEHIND him and kill him.
Sett
Ignite sett is kinda hard to trade with but nothing we cant handle for sure, wardens mail is really good as it stops his q from doing a **** ton of damage early, if he has no w up look to literally steamroll him, tabis is also good.
Yorick
his ghouls can really **** you up so try to sidestep his E. Always save your e and start a trade with auto w, if he cages hook him back to you destroy that cage and keep the trade going, your e slow is enough for you to stick onto him and kill him. Wardens mail is really good cause it also negates his ghoul damage. HE WILL BEAT YOU IN A SIDE LANE LATER INTO THE GAME BUT YOU CAN STILL CONTEST HIM.
Riven
Play around her dashes NEVER use e and q willy milly always start a trade with auto w if you can, you can cancel her third Q with your e which takes a significant portion of her damage away especially if shes in ult form. Q+E combo is a MUST against a decent riven player. if shes conq+sorc and ignite you dont walk up until lvl 3.
Irelia
Bramble gets the job done so does executioners. ignite irelia is a little hard to trade with but still a winnable matchup. Save your E for when she tries her all in ******** sidestepping her e guarantees that you win the trade YOU CAN WIN LVL 1 IF U START W BUT YOU HAVE TO KITE HER OUT.
Kayle
Pre 6 steamroll the **** out of her as she melee and ***** her out of lane. Post 6 shes ranged so be a little careful on how you engage, lethal tempo Kayle lvl 1 actually can win against Darius so play for your abilities(lvl 2-3). An easy freeze leads to a kill early on.
Aatrox
He is very weak till lvl 4. Anti heal is optional however i prefer tier 2 boots as making his W useless is very good. Speaking of his W, it is his best setup tool most of the time if he hits it on you it is a won trade sometimes even a kill so try to walk out to the sides of the W so you don't get pulled in. If your losing the lane bramble is a good buy. Both boneplating and second wind work here.
Urgot
Wardens mail LOL. ignite Urgot is strong, if he hits his e you kinda just lose the trade. Try to position around the legs that don't have shotgun knees as those ones have empowered damage. if you are losing hp post 6 always try to dodge his ult or at least look to dodge his ult.
Vladimir
Rush executioners. Try to save your e for when he comes out of his W. second wind dorans makes this matchup a breeze. And also be careful of his crimson rush, when the bar below his health bar turns red, he can use the empowered version of his Q to out trade you.
Gwen
Skill matchup in her favor. She runs tp ignite/ghost usually so you want her to shove the wave first then look for an all in once her wave is close to your tower. Pre 6 it is easy to all in her but post six the uno reverse happens as it gets very easy to all in YOU. As far as builds goes hexdrinker is really good and so is negatron cloak. her mid game is kinda ok but her teamfighting is decent.
Gnar
Mini form sucks to play against however, it is 100% possible for a good Darius player to solo kill him in either form with sorcery second, for the rest of the Dar plebs wait for mega. When he is mega try to trade with him before he goes back to his mini form as you can out trade him once you get 5 bleed. post 6 mega form is scary because he can stun lock you and it does a **** ton of damage so watch out for that. Tabis rush is huge against him.
Kled
Similar to Renekton, Kled has very good all in power. dodging his Q is very good as thats most of his dmg gone right there. once he dismounts if your going to fight him make sure to kite a little bit so you don't get hit by every ability as if he does remount you will either lose the trade significantly or just flat out die. If your not going to fight him wait for him to shove as if Kled doesnt hit you he remounts VERY slowly. Kled post 6 becomes easier to trade with as once he dismounts he drops below around 700 health lvl 6 so it is very easy to kill him but without that burst of damage is its hard to shut him down. Avoid his Q hit your Q, wait for him to use his dashes so you can pull him back and look for the dismount. Tabis rush or wardens mail into a frozen heart second is really good.
Renekton
Laning is pretty standard try not to get poked out while farming by his q. With the recent renekton buffs Conq + ignite makes him a really good duelest early game, he is more mobile than he ever was before so try to time his e more frequently as it is on a lower CD, his in lane sustain is really good so if your even rushing bramble is really good, post 6 make sure to save your ult for when he ults and try to time your e for when he uses his second dash.
Camille
This is the start of the fun. Camille is so free for Darius in lane. she has zero dps and or ways of shutting you down without you getting 5 bleed first. ignite Camille is a little bit harder but you still with this matchup easily. hooking her out of her e is very very VERY good as it mostly leads to a solo kill or a flash if she runs it. her ult can be annoying as she is trying to delay you killing her and gives her time to get her abilities back of CD. try not to take too much poke from her W. if she goes divine try to match with bramble.
Dr. Mundo
So the way to beating mundo is actually just out-stating him and rushing executioners. Playing behind your minions is a surefire way of stopping him from poking you with his q, his healing early is not bad but getting exe makes so it feels like he has no healing at all. divine is ****ing amazing because he will NEVER contest you in a side lane as you will always beat him.
Singed
Start by walking to the tier 2 tower and walking with your minions. Most singed OTPs will just proxy you as this is one of there worst matchups so denying the proxy early on is very good especially if you can kill him thats pretty much gg. Singed cannot fight you head to head in lane. he also cant poke you down enough to warrant you walking away or backing off from him. If you time it right you can e him while he flips you off of him.
Gragas
He has very good poke but other than that you should be fine your damage is really good and if his e is down you straight up win no matter what he does.
Volibear
Rarely picked but when he is it is a very easy matchup. Dodging his E is very good as most of his dmg is gone early on, you demolish him lvl 1 if you start W and post 6 shouldn't be a problem as your damage gets better later on anyways. Make sure to wait out his W timer however as that can turn the trade for him. Lethal tempo voli is more of a duelest then tank. You dont win lvls 1 and 2 but lvl 3 it becomes an even matchup in your favor. Do the same things as listed above like sidestepping his E and timing his W and you will still have success.
Shen
Where Shen is most useful is in a teamfight his laning against you isnt good at all. You win EVERY single trade and even if he has ignite he is sacrificing map pressure for duelling potential that he does not have against you. shen lvl 1 and 2 with grasp is pretty annoying to fight in lane as he has a lot of poke and if he does take ignite he has some kill pressure but once you go past lvl 3 its a free matchup. Look to save your hook for when he E's away from you(if he taunts you and runs away your character will automatically follow him use this to your advantage you can cast ghost while taunted) auto W is very good to start the trade walking infront of him is also good but be careful as he will try to taunt you and drag you under the tower. Never walk up to get a plate or hit the tower unless hes not there or his e is down. Post 6 Shen's lane is basically over as he will ALWAYS look to roam for his team so either stop his ult with your e or when hes gone start to hit his tower and farm some plates for free.
Malphite
So this matchup is sleeper but its still free as ****. Go second wind dorans and any poke he has is gone, poking him with Q while he farms is also very good save your e for when he tries to Q you as he is in your E hitbox range, your dmg against him is very high before he gets bramble, Divine is a MUST buy if your looking to kill him post lane.
Tryndamere
TABIS TABIS TABIS. i cannot stress enough how much darius players i see in this matchup not rushing tabis and going dmg. Tryndamere has VERY low defensive stats but has a lot of dmg to back it up so going tabis is so free as it takes away almost all of his dmg until he gets his first item. randuins second is a MUST buy if your looking to contest/stop him on a split. pre 6 he will try to all in you with full rage so auto w is the tec as it will force him to spin onto you if he wants to continue the trade. post 6 kite him as much as possible try to save your e for when he ults so you can stop him when he tries to all in you. Once tryndamere is shut down in this lane it is impossible for him to comeback and he must either farm really well to get his lead back or play safe.
Illaoi
Very easy. Illaoi pre 6 has little to no dmg provided that you dont get hit by her tentacles. Hitting her E pre 6 could lead to you killing her or atleast poking her. She has ZERO way of stopping your all in as she has no dashes or movement speed buffs, however post 6 this matchup flips on its head. You ALWAYS want to look to sidestep her e and keep track of the cooldown(16 seconds- 12 seconds). Her ultimate is really hard to deal with but mostly its her W as it goes on a 2 second FLAT cooldown when she ults. sidesteping her E GUARANTEES that you kill her even when she ults. This entire matchup is literally around 1 singular ability and nothing else as long as you avoid it you dominate this matchup. Post lane amazing teamfight potential but **** skirmishing as she has no dashes and if she does get cc/kited she will just die.
K'Sante
Broken ****in tank. K'sante early game is ****, hes EXACLTY like Sion in which he has no good early stats and is very squishy. He scales incredibly well and is really good in teamfights. In lane you win this matchup very hard. k'sante is very weak to your all ins and if he all ins himself he dies as he converts 80% of his total stats to dmg and loses all defenses. Using the full tenacity rune page plus second wind dorans make K'santes poke usless. Into this champion you ALWAYS want to go black cleaver no matter what mythic you have as it not only reduces his resistances but also reduces the damage he deals and how much he can reduce as everything in his kit except his E scales with how much armour and magic resist he has. I wouldnt say you dominate as its easy to throw this matchup away but its not so difficult and even if you make a few mistakes your still generally stronger than him.
Warwick
Exe rush and you straight up win. do not try to fight him lvl 1 wait for your abilities i suggest going Q first and W second for ultimate trading power try to wait for his Q first before you react and do anything, if he E's kite it out and walk away. Quick tip if you have godlike timing you can buffer your e before he ults to cancel his ult AND keep him in the air at the same time.
Tahm Kench
One of Darius's worst matchup now turned easy. Tahm used to be cancer because he had free sustain with his shield and tons of damage but now that he doesn't have those things post rework kench is a easy matchup for Darius. Divine isnt a must but it is really good against him, auto w trade is crucial and SAVE SAVE SAVE YOUR E for when he W's as if you do its literally a free kill. Dont let him stack his passive on you because he can now Q+R you and if hes under his tower it pulls you.
Zac
What do i say here? Oh yeah, hes literally only picked to weakside, he has ZERO kill pressure on you and will ALWAYS look for a poke trade with his Q. Hooking him while hes in his E cancels it completely so look to do that for an easy kill. Exe literally kills this champions healing and regeneration so look to rush it. Majority of the laning phase is him just looking to poke you with his rotation of abilities.
Yasuo
**** brother #1. Very easy, you do not win lvl 1 if he has ignite and lethal, look for lvl 2/3, once you get abilities straight up run him down auto w, save your e for the q+e combo because he can dash into your q,rush ninja tabis same as tryndamere, yasuo has no defensive stats early on but because of lethal tempo he has the dps to trade with you so tabis is a very huge buy against him
Yone
Early on its the same as Yasuo you don't win lvls 1 and 2 if he has ignite and lethal unless you kite him and even then its very risky. lvl 3 is when this matchup does a 360 no scope flip as you have all of your abilities and it becomes easier to hit your Q. Speaking of your q, Yone's objective is to make sure you do not get 5 bleed ever so using his e and sometimes his q he can deny your q and make it harder for you to trade back with him. Post 6 is also not that bad pretty much the same thing except of course watch out for his ultimate, Quick tip: If yone is trying to ult out pull him with your e this will make yones hitbox appear infront of you for a brief second and will stop him from dashing so far(It also slows him because of your e slow) this makes it very easy to finish him off if you were already stacking bleed on him before. Tabis rush is also good here.
Sion
We are finally here boys the stomping grounds for brain off Darius matchups where if you literally run at them there is nothing they can do.
Sion is very very free as he is the only tank in the game with very very **** base stats(32 armour lvl 1, 44 if he takes double armour for up to 48 armour lvl 6, 60 if he takes double armour shard)so take advantage of that, dragging the wave and freezing is a really good tool to start the snowballing process going. Some Sion OTPs will commit to proxying because they cannot fight Darius head to head in the lane post 6 is nothing as you still **** on him regardless just make sure you deny him as much lane presence as possible. if they Sion tries pulling a baus call him a degen in all chat it will make him AFK i promise.
Cho'Gath
Cho is another free as **** matchup for Darius. Start W and go really aggresive i suggest using the agro rune page if your about that life but second wind is fine as well. Save your E to tie your slows together instead of using e and w at once to really stay on him start with a hook auto ghost then auto W, sidestep his Q and make sure you don't get poked through minions by his E. If hes really close and you can start a trade with auto w than saving your e for when you do get hit by his Q is good as well. Freezing literally makes this lane impossible for him. Rushing mercs cucks his kit very hard too.
Garen
Gayren is very free. Most garen players go mid anyways but on a rare occasion if they do go top this is what they will do. Garen nowadays runs phase rush because it is much easier to trade with losing matchups then just going conq but he loses a portion of his dmg by going phase rush over conq so it should be very easy to trade with him . Save your E for when he tries to spaceglide away by the time you E him and it connects his phase rush is completely gone and he has to flash to survive. This is the first time im recommending Tri force as this item will turn you into a split pushing god and something that Garen cannot handle but any other mythic is good aswell. Post 6 with ignite garen can all in if your below 50-60% hp with no bleed stacks so be careful, freezing also works against Garen as he has no way of walking up to the wave unless he Q's.
Nasus
Susan is really ****ed since riot buffed his ult to give him flat stats instead of scaling % like he used to have and also just straight making his w unfun to play against but really other than that this matchup is lightwork. Let him have wave control but still try to threaten an all in once the wave is pushing towards you try to setup a freeze against him he is COMPLETELY out of the laning phase if the freeze is successful and if he ever walks up to cs you can just ghost and all in him. Nasus goes a variety of runes but he only has 2 playstyles toplane, short trades with Q, wither and fleet or E poke with aery/arcane comet and phase rush. in my opinion they should nerf wither into the ground and let it scale later on just like the rest of his kit but that's just me. post 6 is when hes scary because if you took to much poke before that he can all in you with his ghost. Almost EVERY Nasus OTP i've played against has NEVER taken flash so try to get your jungler to make a play top if you can. Divine is really good and if you can follow that up with a black cleaver its a done deal.
Ornn
I've seen so many Darius players struggle to beat this champ and i don't understand how but anyways. Ornn is free food, go second wind for his poke with q and w, if he W's you and you have the brittle effect on you walk away from him as only the auto attack following the w does a lot of damage. Hook him if he tries to ult this stops him from recasting his ult you can also hook him out of his E and since it has a slow animation it should be a free hit. divine is a MUST into this champion, most of the time he will be teamfighitng try to stack bleed on him them 1v9 the backline with your team.
Poppy
While Poppy is a great staple pick against champs like Renekton , Riven, Irelia she isnt good against darius and theres really 1 reason why. Darius has ZERO mobility spells, no dashes, no movement speed buffs, not even good movement speed but this makes the Poppy matchup even better because Poppys job is to stop mobility users and prevent them from either running away from her or committing to an all in on her. her w grounds any user that dashes inside or outside her range and grants her bonus resistances, her e dashes users and if it hits a wall it stuns them and her Q is a slow. shes a anti-mobile champ but not an anti-Darius one. Her damage against you is good if she runs corruption pots but you can still **** on her pretty hard. save your e for when she W's away, when she Q's try to sidestep the 2nd part of the q, you have more raw power than she ever will so getting 5 bleed against her is a auto win. Most Poppys will use there passive+ Grasp to poke you down, this is where you go second wind+dorans and make her cry also her passive shield only comes back to her when it kills something so when she hits you try to find where its going to land and step on it as if she picks it up she can get a free shield.
Darius
Only synergy you need is yourself bub. On some serious **** if your really good at Dar you will notice yourself slowly relying less on your team and more on yourself. Sure if you int you will need to rely on your team of course league of legends is still a 5v5 game however, a good Darius player can singlehandedly sweep an entire team 1v5 if he plays it right. keep that in mind for your next game

So a lot of Darius OTPS will tell you that ignite is the WORST thing you can run on Darius as a summoner spell. While yes, it makes you a duelist machine you lose basically all of your mobility and a good 60% of Dar matchups become increasingly harder for no reason. You also DO NOT SCALE ANYMORE as ignite does not do anything in a teamfight other than provide more damage which you should already have. If you run ignite you are putting more pressure on yourself to absolutely crush the lane because if you dont you are pretty useless after laning phase is over.
